Anyone that buys gil or clears with real money should be outright banned from playing the game imo. I really wish Square would crack down on the players that do this. Get rid of the people supporting the parasites and they go away.

Thats understandable, but, You're not a bot, you have jobs and some crafting leveled, you have playtime, a name that is readable and not just a random headbutt of a keyboard.
Im not trying to promote that the GM's and the STF go HAM and start dolling out bans like the amount of spires i pulled when leveling AST in 4.X, they will still need to do investigations as and when.
I'm in complete agreement. It's quite jarring to see how openly RMT services are permitted to be advertised, and it needs to come to a halt. SE hasn't really 'stopped' the RMT problem with any of its various approaches, so I think at this point, at least aim to drive it underground - even if that means they're harder to track or identify.
Also, I think the ToS should be altered to address the original point about mercenary groups. My personal opinion is that they should be banned for both in-game currency AND real-life currency, as I don't think it's appropriate for this type of service to be so visible in the game, but I recognize there are differences of opinion, and that's fine. Either way, though, if selling runs for in-game currency is permitted, SE should regulate it better. Make a PF category for it; allow groups to enter an in-game price right into the DF; build an escrow system for Gil so that there's no scamming. And then couple it with a change to the ToS that makes it a punishable and reportable offence to insist that users join an out-of-game communications tool in these specific groups, as there should be absolutely no need for a Discord group in these scenarios. Basically, lock things down a bit so that it's easier to offer these clears for in-game currency, but much riskier to use them as a cover for RMT (which, yes, some groups do).
They need to be a lot more timely and reliable about banning both buyers and bots in general.
Even if they get the obvious gil farmers under control, a lot of the DoH bots playing the market board are also involved in RMT business as well.
However they could have someone sitting there 24/7 dealing with RMT ban requests in real time they don't.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Shouldnt have to share world space with bots with Queues like this. https://imgur.com/QHpTyju

I think the only way to deal with the mess is finding creative ways that hasn't been thought of yet at this point, maybe the devs are on a stand-still on this issue because anything traditionally tried is probably only going to be short-term so we need to think of a long-term solution.
Fix enemy AI so it resets against inaccessible targets (Several MMOs already do this to prevent exploitation). Gil farm bots can no longer kill anything as they'll need to stay in bounds to prevent resets and it's not possible for them to handle most dungeon bosses without a tank if they have to actually take hits. The only reason their farming method works is because they hide under the floor so the dozens of enemies they aggro can't reach them.
There are "legit" bots that progress without hacking but they're much much slower and take nearly a week to hit max level as opposed to just a day.
If they're able to slow them down that much and start regularly banning the "subtle" bots that don't use hacks they'd be able to keep them under control much more easily.
