Player Poll, The Viera Movement.

I have never understood the insane fascination with Viera or Mithra/Miqote. I always assume its just because there are a lot of otaku who get their rocks off with such races. Viera and Miqote are too alike for me to want to see BOTH of them.

Plus, the poll didn't sound like seeing new races, it just sounded like they were going to be included as beastmen.

If anything, I'd much rather see some type of NEW race, or a race that hasn't been used very much in the FF series. Having one race from Ivalice combined with the entirety of Vanadiel/Eorzea similarities just seems completely wrong.

Don't get me wrong, Viera would "fit" the aesthetics of the game (we already have Miqote for that..), but so would other lesser used races such as Yukes from the Chronicles series.



Again, I don't want to see a copy cat race implemented. I want to see a FRESH race or a very drastic alteration of a pre-existing one from various FF iterations.

Big no to Viera being implemented.

Quick edit: I was asked how Yukes would be appropriate (claiming they were above). My response was that the Yukes and/or related race were created by the Garleans. Similar to the FF9 storyline of Vivi, the Yukes gained control over their soul and many defected to stop the atrocities of the Garlean Empire.
