love that comic ^.^It was a series of comics made called "Level- up" in my XI days. this pic comes from when a main character mithra in the comics steals veras clothing. all in all the comic was great I loved it very much. because of this I must sshare one more gem (slightly off topic, forgive me)

I wish this thread would die.... by page 3 it was no longer fun or funny

I cant say i get off on them either. I love cats, and im a girl thus cat girls are my #1 choice. besides it wouldnt hurt to have one more class girls enjoy or men for that matter. my history in mmos is a lot of manly classes id never play as. a bit of versatility to what I like would be nice.

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~
My very first character was a hyur highlander and I honestly got bored of seeing him after a while. Maybe its because you "expect" a character looking like that to be able to perform crazy feats of valor but I get a lot more enjoyment out of seeing my lalafell swing a sword at squirrels larger than him.I cant say i get off on them either. Sometimes, the cute option is just more fun. *shrug*

Why are people thinking that it's not going to be a playable race?
Yoshi said somewhere's that they plan on having more races in 2.0. I don't know where it's at, but he did say it. And to everyone saying they need to add more customization to current ones, they are already doing that in 2.0 as well.
Vierra are awesome, everyone who hates can gtfo![]()
I think it would be wiser, if they really want to add a new player race, or maybe that's not their intentions with this at all, to focus on broadening diversity instead of pigeonholing into certain race styles. While I have no problem with furries in general, adding Vieras to a game that already has miquotes, which are so incredibly similar in style, seems to just cater too much to people who "get off" on these sorts of races.
The game doesn't have a rough around the edges fantasy style race, and you would think something like bangaa could fill that slot in, or maybe something that is more "steam punk" in nature that could fill that slot. These aren't necessarily preferences of mine, but they're both suggestions that would increase diversity.

that's the kind of thing that I really don't want FFXIV to become.

I'm a girl, and I don't get off on Viera, but I want to play as one. Anyway, I hope they implement several new races to cater to EVERYONE. I seriously do not want to be discriminated against in the future if they only bring us Viera because the race I wanted got in and someone else's didn't AND I really like the idea of diversity all over.

Voting no on Viera; they're too much like miqo'te already and I'd imagine they'd essentially be the same model, but slightly taller and with bunny ears and tails instead. I'd prefer a draconian race or something else less humanoid so we can get a little variety, as even roegadyn just look like "prettier" galkas.
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.As much as it might hurt you, and as much as someone else brings the balance issues up, FFXI had the jobs right. And, you know, this is a FF, and I don't see you guys complaining about people asking for WoW things. So please.
Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
This thread reminds me of why I don't have much to do with the fan base if I can help it, starting back from where I heard the same complaints in FFxi. We already have option to choose from five races as it is and soon we'll have option to chose from the male/female versions from all of them... that's ten possible choices right off the bat (more than most other MMO) and that's still not good enough for you?

If you have a million dollars and someone asks you "We're giving you another million dollars, how would you like it broken up?" youre not likely to say "No thank you I already have a million dollars."
