Who Else Is "Double Dipping"?

Since I got my Early Access, after logging in and selecting my character, I have been forced to log back out because my character always get stuck in queue to get on the server and then once I log back in and select my character again, I get in fine. I have dubbed this as "Double Dipping" because it is such a mess.

SE, can you fix this please?

considering if I do get a queue it's always only double digits and at most a 5 minute wait. No. I get a drink or a sammich or something.

The queue system is not obvious about this, but it only updates to try and let new people in every so often. However, as long as you do not leave the character selection screen you are still in the same place in the queue and can cancel and try to enter again to force it to check if your turn is up manually.

Anecdotally that has been my experience - nice to see it spelled out.

Been doing that for years now (other than when I get in without any hassle, of course)

It always worked for me unless the queue was significantly large (like 100+).

On balmung, this has always been an issue...

However, with maintenance last night exit the queue and reselecting the character doesn't seem to change anything now.

I'm kind of happy SE finally fixed it. however, I've been using it for years.

Huh, I just got home and you're right, it doesn't seem to force a re-check anymore.
