I just hit Grenoldt for the MSQ lvl 79 quest and couldnt figure out why i couldn't do the quest. I had to google this thread to find out. Why do i Have to be 80? Why not make the lvl on the MSQ at this point lvl 80 and not wast people's time and frustrations?

Just pretend the Exp reward is not there. They will most probably remove it anyway, or turn the quest into Lv 80, rather than reworking any other thing.

I was pretty confused myself. It should have probably had a requirement of lvl 80 to begin with. Like someone has said already, it was probably an oversight.

Thank you OP! What the Hell, devs?! How do you miss that a lvl 79 quest requires that you finish a lvl 80 quest? My suggestion is to make the role quest 79 as well. It goes in 2's , and just changing the final quest would be a bit out of place. You could move the role quests to odd levels.
Dear developers,
I'm a fellow game developer myself. I totally understand how something like this could've made it into the final game. Shit happens...
THAT BEING SAID, this was such a huge screw up that I quit playing for about a week and nearly quit playing altogether, because I thought it was a bug in the MSQ system. This is a big deal, and it *seriously* should be fixed, and definitely warrants more than a half-ass generic response. Look around at the confusion and irritation this has caused to the players. I signed up for these forums just to complain about it.

You nearly quit playing... over a (perceived) minor bug in the system without even seeing if it was blocking your progress once you did what it asked you to do?
Anyway, as I said in another thread discussing this - it actually makes more sense set up the way it is. If you had to be Lv80 to begin the quest, you might have to leave the area, go level up elsewhere, come back to accept the quest... and near-immediately learn that you need to leave again and complete the role quest.
Telling you upfront that you need to clear the role quest just removes a potential layer of annoyance later on. You're immediately clear that you need to both reach Lv80 and complete the quest(s) which might even give you the EXP needed to level up.

Yes, I totally agree with OP. As I first brought up here, this quest should have been 80, not 79. It's a stupid design decision and can cause issues as everyone can see from some of the posts here. The devs really need to change it where you either cannot accept the quest until you are 80 and have the role questline done or divide the quest into two quests so the second half requires the level 80 and role questline complete. It will cause less confusion. It makes no logical sense to say a quest is level 79 but you can't beat it without actually being 80. If it needs to be beaten at 80, than don't label it as a level 79 quest when its not.

This... really seems like a very minor thing to complain about. Ok, so it's a level 79 quest that needs a level 80 quest to complete. So what? It also happens to be the final level 79 quest, so may as well just consider it the first 80 quest. It also plainly tells you you need to do your entire role questline, which you should have seen needs 80 for the final quest, so it's pretty clear that you need to be level 80 to do it...
This is no different from hitting a level requirement in the MSQ. They could make the quest a level 80 quest and nothing would have changed, besides the fact that you couldn't accept the quest at all.
In fact, it's GOOD that it's a level 79 quest. If it were level 80 and you came here at 79, oh damn you can't continue the MSQ until you're level 80, time to go do some roulettes and fates! Then you hit 80 and you go pick up the quest... oh you can't continue the MSQ till you do your role quest, which you've neglected to do and you need to go through the whole questline now. All that XP doing the role quests could have gone towards getting to level 80...
Since it's a level 79 quest, you can see, ok I need to do my role quests, guess I can go do them while getting to level 80. Even if you were diligent in your role quests and only have the level 80 one to go, you know ahead of time that you need to do it once you hit 80, saving you a trip to the quest giver to see what the next MSQ is. You can bet if this was a level 80 quest you'd just have people complaining that they had to level grind past a wall just to discover another wall...
