Sinking Doesmaga (Arcanist Quest)

With the new changes to arcanist, this quest has become impossible to complete. The Carbuncle can't draw aggro anymore so the pirate horde comes down on you, and the NPC you're with. On top of that, you can't heal her and she'll lose the quest for you if she dies. Which she will. Every time. I'm not sure if this counts as a bug but it IS game-breaking.

I had only just done this quest a bit over a week ago, and all I could think was, the NPC keeps telling me to use Topaz to tank, how will this quest go once Topaz can no longer tank?

I guess I have my answer now. Poorly.

As it turns out, you were correct. I still don't feel like it was anything but luck. Whatever, I'm a scholar now for what it's worth at this point.

*gigglefits* Yeah I can see the future ranks of SCH/SMN is gonna be low considering ALOT of players will outright stop doing something if they deem it too difficult. I cant complain too much because I'm always like... well screw it I'll just fail enough times to get the buffs and it'll be passable by final stack.This was something I discovered on Accident Playing BRD and leveling it. By then I was like... screw the other classes are better anyways.

I did it a few days ago. It was not particularly hard. I would look at your gear or your rotation if you had problem with this quest.
