Side Note: I've never played with any melee who worries about holding back ws's because they're already red... i think that's fantasy land.

Then your so called Meele DDs are doing it wrong.
I have to Collusion a MNK on Miser Mistress EVERY time it's rdy before he uses his Dragon Kick Combo, so I get more hate, otherwise, he'd rip it off me in no time. I start the fight with a Barraged BRD/ARC that I Collusion for the pull...not mentioning that WAR generates more and faster hate then PLD anyway, if Meeles go all out (considering they can play their class), then there is no way you could hold hate on a PLD, it's already "close" with a WAR, who generates way more hate in the first place.
This only applies if you're group is able to bring down Miser to 30-40% before first regen if not more and bring down Ifrit to 30% in less then 4 minutes...if you're DDs can't do that, then they are doing it wrong, therefore hate shouldn't be a problem for your tank...but for people who actually get this done (which my group accomplishes), hate is an issue, especially with MNKs in the group.
I can barely handle it on WAR, as PLD...no chance...and on WAR it's already a close call, since I need to Collusion the MNK etc.
PS: Okay lol...sorry, now I got what you meant...overnuking DDs, who give a shit about hate...
Think you meant Rampage instead of Rampart for WAR healing. Rampage heals you whenever you crit.Healing Options: Winner WAR
-WAR has Second Wind, Rampart, Bloodbath which don't cost tp/mp.
-PLD has Aegis Boon w/o restriction, Cure and Holy Succor both cost mp (Succor isn't affected by Sacred Prism which could be an excellent hate tool), and Divine Viel requires a different person to cure you (and pretty redundant since WHM's cast Regen anyways).

GG, well played. Now I can leave both swords on the retainer for good.
Yeah, this looks incredibly underwhelming and doesn't really address any of the major issues with the Job.
I'm not really disappointed, because I expected as much at first.
I'm happy that divine veil will "Block all physical attacks from the front" from 20 out of every 60 seconds. This is wonderful news. 33% pure good blocky goodness.
^^^
And Outmaneuver can be used at the same time for 20 sec of MP recovery.
