I get these alerts all the time. It is from logging into the store at work, which is 30mils away from my home, and then logging into the store or mog station at home. I just bounce between 2 passwords.
I dont think the $15 token is worth it enough to stop these alerts. I will only if it gets triggered from not my actions.
As for the software app, that thing deactivates every day because I have Google Fi and the developers required detecting your cell phone provider. So, removing the auth app and then adding it has caused me to be locked out because you cannot remove the mfa more than once in a 24hour period. So, I stop using it.

In the case of my account, it is linked with my SE Store account. They share the same username and password, and this has been the case since I bought this game in 2015. Perhaps it's because I play on PC with the non-Steam client, but they have always been linked to one another.I don't get why someone should get their SE-Account locked when you go to the SE-Store. That are two different services where you have different account names and passwords. So can someone explain me how you get locked on one services when the two aren't connected with each other?

Okay, I was wrong. I just tried to log in to the store with my SE-account data and it worked. If you don't want to change your password everyday, just get the One-Time Password.
Doesn't matter even if you don't have a smartphone, as you can use an emulator.
There is literally no valid reason not to get the free OTP. And if you don't want the software one, the physical is only ~$10

Or maybe they should make the site work right instead of us having to buy something for real money for it to be more save...and not everyone uses easy passwords that are not save. And people already posted in this very thread that they still got the message even with the OTP, so its not the best solution. If you don't want to change your password everyday, just get the One-Time Password.

Are you guys deleting your cookies somehow? Cookie blocker, cookie eraser, A/V software deleting them etc? They probably keep your computer's login information there and when it gets deleted it assumes you're trying to login from a separate computer every single time. It's common practice albeit a crappy one, but it's probably why you keep getting asked to reset your password.
