Need some help trying ti decide between Dnc and Mch.

Hiya, so as I've been messing around with jobs since the start of early access, I've ended up falling madly in love with physical ranged dps, in particular Mch and Dnc. Now I'm trying to decide on which one to be my main job while I relegate the other to secondary with Brd. Now with Dancer I like the idea of being a supportive dps, but worried that there are way to many Dncs that it'll be super hard to get into groups as one. With Mch, I love the revamp of it, but worried that either other jobs do more dps or have better utility that Mch will kinda end up being ignored.

I know it's still too early to say anything, but I'm just hoping y'all could offer some insight or advice on which to go with for the whole of the expansion.

I personally enjoy MCH more; dancer feels fluid, but the RNG feels like a weird mix of old mch and rdm. Also reassembles+drill is fun. I’d say if you like fast pace go mch.

Yikes. You're literally asking other people to help you pick what will ultimately wind up being your own personal preference. Level both. Pick which one you enjoyed more.

@Raido, well that's just it, I prefer both equally. I'm just looking for input from people who have played ranged physical jobs far longer than I have. I do know I wouldn't be able to max out the damage on Mch since I do tend to make a lot of mistakes, but I do like it's speed and theme. I like dancer cause it does let me be a more supportive character while not being a healer (I suck at healer) and it does appeal to my um... more flamboyant side lol. At the moment, my gut instinct is telling me to go dancer and never look back, but I'm trying to make sure this is a wise choice and I don't just end up being one in a sea and it end up being ignored by groups because of how common the job might become.

I havnt tried the new Machinest yet, but i have been playing the ever-loving-Kweh out of Dancer.

I'll say this. With Machinest (even pre-5.0) you have more 'skills/abilities' to use full-time, than Dancer does.

I love Dancer, it'll be my main class. BUT, its rotation can get a bit dull if you 'focus' on the rotation itself. You only get 2-skill chains. Ones AOE, ones Ranged Single-target. Each of the skills in those 2-shot chains have a chance of proccing their own 3rd skill, which then has a chance of procing a 4th. But if you get no procs, your stuck doing only 2 attacks (be it the AOE chain, or the Single-target Ranged Chain). Beyond that, you have the Standard-step you can do every 30 seconds-ish, which does a nice burst-damage to a close target + aoe damage to other surrounding targets. But the 'main' Damage boost skill (The 4 step skill) has a long cooldown so is only ever used once or twice per encounter.

With Machinest, i see it having more 'to do' constantly, whereas the Dancer has that bit of RNG to contend with in order to 'not' simply hit the same two skills over and over again.

As i said.. i LIKE Dancer, because i can still enjoy the class, despite it sometimes turning into a 2-button class. But it may not suite you

Only way you will 'really' know, is if you give each a fair shot. Level Dancer from its starting lvl 60, to lvl 70, and level Machinest up to whatever the next 10th level is for you, and see which you like better.
