Loss of drain on Blm...really?!

Sleep and Manaward is all you really have on BLM. You're still in a better place in some ways compared to SMN, that is until Phoenix ;D.

Drain in itself was a terrible skill.

As casters, I feel we have "2 open role skill slots" unfilled.

I could see something like a "new" Drain skill as a GCD bloodbath for the caster, placing a debuff on a single target for a short time, with a % of the damage dealt returned to you. Something like 40% over the course of 15 seconds. [Numbers can be adjusted, but something similar to the amount healed from a VerCure cast, once ever 15 seconds. The DPS loss of casting it, being the main factor that limits its use in high end content.]

Really though all they need to do is make sure that mobs in BLM quest line and MSQ can in some part be slept to recup (ignoring certain bosses where you have the super echo healing you.)
