More viera hair (And the ability to use modern Aesthetics hair)

I don't recognize a male au ra hair. I suspect we can't use it again.

It's arranged quite oddly around his horn though - especially since that would be the ear position for the more human races. Maybe for some reason they adapted it from the Miqo'te version of the hairstyle instead, but I don't know why they'd do that and it doesn't look very good.

Oh yeah, that does look like it. It's still looking strange to me, though I can see what it's trying to do now.

You can see from the sketch that the hair is supposed to tuck over the right ear, but on the screenshot it looks more like it's clipping straight through it.

Maybe it's just the angle, and it'll look better in the game.

I wonder how it'll look for Miqo'tes. Will it just look like a strange curl on the right side of the head?
(I'm just assuming Viera won't get this)

For a series that is known for its outrageous over the top hairstyles they sure release some boring practical cuts.

I love the Viera race, and I don't really understand what's so difficult about some hairstyles being made available to them, especially if they aren't heavily adorned. I can understand the ones with the braids at the top of the head being more difficult because of ear positioning but honestly there are a lot of hairstyles that don't have anything going on where the ears are located.

None of these have anything on or even near the top of the head that should indicate a problem. I have been especially surprised at them not including at least the newest hairstyles for the Viera, as one would think the newest races would certainly be included in what comes out with and after their release. I know they have said they are going to be adding them over time, and something about new hairstyles, but it has been quite some time since then and they haven't even addressed it or given any sort of update on it since then. As I've said before, I don't know why they would bother adding new races, especially one as highly requested as Viera without ensuring they are a "complete" race with access to everything the other races have. I understand Hrothgar being far more complicated and why their customization options may need to be unique to them, but I still don't understand why Viera would have any limitations on the vast majority of the hairstyles they've added over time when there's nothing in them that would interfere with the ears at all.
