More viera hair (And the ability to use modern Aesthetics hair)

I understand hrothgar since their heads are totally different but wouldn't viera basically be the same as mi'qote as far as "making hairstyles work"?

The head shape for Viera looks to be the same for the other races




If anything, it's the ears that they're having difficulty with. I'm sure they'll include more hairstyles for Viera, but I am surprised they didn't do that for the paid hairstyles for launch.

I can't remember where it was mentioned, but yes, they said there are going to add hairstyles later for Vieras. In the meanwhile, we got some new and unique ones to test out

Also, yes, they have the same headshape, but with the ears, they have to work the hair around, too.

Viera ears aren't at the same place as miqo'tes ears. So hair isn't placed the same way. They have to plan the placement of the ears on the hair so it dosen't look clunky, I suppose.

Please I just want the unlocked hairs. ESP the ones I spent real money on. Technically both Hrothgar and Viera got 8 different hairstyles since the hair Viera got are mainly variants. I wish they would do something for Hrothgar too it feels so limiting only having 8 options for a look... I was so sad when I unlocked the new hair style at gold saucer and went to go try it on only to find none of my unlock hairstyles were there. It doesn't even list in the description it can't be used on Viera when I feel like that's something you should be very clear with.

I think that the first hairstyles to be added should be the ones people have had to pay for, as a way to make it fair for their purchase. Then it would be good if we could get the in game rewards ones for pvp and the two from Heaven on High and Eureka.

So this looks like it proves what I was concerned about. The problem isn't the shape of the head as much as there the ears live on the model. Especially with some of the unisex hairstyles, the ears would float over top of the hair. So I can see where several styles wouldn't be incorporated unless and until they manage to move the ears down closer to the head if you have those styles applied.

Looks like they would probably have to remodel the hairs entirely, to avoid some massive issues with ear clipping. Not to mention, they would also have to edit every piece of headgear to the specific hairstyles too, if those were to be added. However, judging by how tons of headgear just clips I think that is an afterthought.

I too am hoping we get more of the hairstyles unlocked - although I do realize they have to adjust and whatnot and that it will take time. So I am being as patient as I can be. My other wish is that they animate the ears somewhat, they should twitch and swivel a little, doesn't have to be a lot!

yeah, I noticed that too. Miqo'te ears move, they are so lively and looks really cute. But our ears looks like a static headgear. :/

About the hair and they had problems adapting it.
I'm 3D designer and still, I can't understand what problems they are having to adapt the hairs. Should be the same procedure as Miqo'te. ¿Some gear have clipping? Well, it has in other races too. The "Far eastern Schoolgirl hair ribbon" for example, clips in many hairs in normal races. With Viera, with all hairs looks floaty, but not with the Viera ponytail. That's kinda normal.

About Hrothgar hair, is a shame too. Because they didn't have limited hairstyles, their hair is stuck to the face, so they have to pay a fantasia if they want a new look like the other races. :/
I think YoshiP and his team did a very bad decision with the hair limitations in this expansion.
First genderlock, and now this

The problem is, that they didn't say anything about this, at least I do not see it. They said they wanted Viera with a unique look, but they didn't say us all of us will look like an exact clone for lack of hairs!
I have really mixed feelings with Viera. They are cute (Really cute in fact) but I'm Aesthetician addicted. I love to change my appearance almost every day, unlock glamours, tint clothes...
