Unplayable, Help?

I can quest and solo easily enough, but as soon as I enter a dungeon my sending goes to 0, my receiving hits 2000s-3000s, and suddenly everyone starts either running in place or snapping/teleporting around. As the healer, WHM, this makes play impossible.

I did a ping of 204.2.229.9, 120ms average.

I did a traceroute, no issue.

I reset my router, no change.

My Ookla Speedtest was 750mbps.

I have Bell Fiber and live in Toronto.

What the heck?!?!?

Sure makes this multiplayer game feel lonely, more a JRPG with an empty chatbox.

The problem has spread to questing and world interaction, I launched Dauntless and it was fine. No lag. I fired up ESO, no lag or issues.

What gives? Is there anything I can do here?

Run a speed test to make sure everything is fine in that regard.
You can power cycle your modem, though I doubt the issue is with your equipment.
If the other games are fine, most likely it's either something with the servers or the path your signals are taking to/from the servers. In which case, there's not really anything you can do except wait for it to correct itself (i.e. wait for someone to fix it somewhere along the line of pipes)

I would say that the issue is you are in Toronto, Canada, and playing on a server located in Japan.

I am not on Typhon, that's just a 1.0 bug. The forums, Mogstation, and more say I am on Typhon. Have since ARR when my character data messed up in transferring. I'm actually on the Crystal Datacenter, Coeurl world. That is where I log in from.


I've talked to the tech support regarding this, apparently my service account is just permanently bugged and beyond their control. Something about errors in the transfer between 1.0 and 2.0

muh bad, i completely didn't register that even though i read it.
Really just sounds like an issue between you and the servers. I've seen that happen before. It clears up eventually, but it sucks until it does.

And before you say that my character is the problem, my character I have played since 1.0? That has thousands of hours behind it, and hundreds of dollars? You should probably think who on who is responsible for the data integrity of their game, because I cannot control that and have spent hundreds of dollars, probably thousands considering my continued subscription and whatnot.

So yeah, if my character data is an issue, then it's the company's problem. And they're incompetent at best in thst case.

Nah, unlikely that's the case. It's more likely that some network backbone provider has equipment issues.

Isps don't set up good routes because for most of the internet, low latency isn't necessary. It let's them save money and be lazy.

As someone who works for an ISP, I really wish I could say you're wrong. Instead, I'll just say this....
