I can remember something they wanted to merge xi & xiv long time ago. Something about going into moghouse and being able to exit in eorzea. Can someone else remember? Doubt they still onto that idea tho. It's just part of having a story for the 2.0 changes.

Tanaka wanted to make it so that there would be an area in which players from XI and XIV could hang out. But they determined because that it would be way to difficult to implement.

Might be on to something here. Because SE just announced a Vanafest 2012 in Japan for June. These always have some huge announcement at these things. Could it be that V2.0 has some sort of FFXI and XIV integration.

I heard this year's vanafest was gonna be a weeklong event instead of the usual couple hours, you may be correct. :O

if this could legitimately be done, it would be brilliant, simply because the 'ease of access' level in simply teleporting from one game to the other would allow both games to feed off each other and make both stronger.

i do doubt it will happen though.
