If you want to play as a child, the closest thing you can get is by playing as Lalafell.

This is a solid nope.
Yoshi P said no because of the Western audience but likely also because of Sony and how much more effort it would be to add yet another race. He isn't opposed to adding new face options that don't necessarily change the shape of the face but said features will have to come at a much later time.
He's likely worried about the imminent shitstorm that would occur from the NA side of things. The minority (no pun intended) politically correct crowd have the loudest words and the last thing thing he wants is a controversy over what is pretty much nothing for most players. But it's the few who would ruin it for everyone. He doesn't want the community divided, and he just wants to make an enjoyable game with enjoyable people playing it. So far, it's work well. BDO's forums are pages and pages of people arguing not only why did they add a playable child race but also why in the NA client it's heavily censored. Imagine that but here? I don't think anyone of us wants to deal with that crap but BDO has a "special" community anyway.

I wouldn’t feel comfortable if players were able to play children. Seeing what some people have done with young characters in other games is entirely off-putting and creepy (like Marie Rose and Elin for example...)
As has already been said with not letting people play as child like characters, I want to further this by saying with some of the armour/costume pieces that exist in game, it really wouldn't go down well.
I’m genuinely curious though. What is so sexy about the body of a female or male child VS something like Viera booty? To me, the answer is obvious!![]()
This is FBI, open up!
Sir, we know you're in there!
I propose SE permanently suspends the account of people who want to play as children in this game.
