GNB's Ammo is too one dimensional

Why is it that ammo is pretty much just a DPS thing? PLD and DRK can use their resource to either DPS or mitigate and have some sort of player governed decision making.

GNB on the other hand is kinda just, you hit the dps button whenever you have ammo. There's isn't any opportunity for cool situations where you save yourself because of smart decision making with your resources, it's just you hit the button and get dps.

That's not right man, DRK cannot use their meter for anything except DPS either. The only resource they can use to mitigate is their MP and thats only for TBN. And DRK's mp regen feels so off and slow.
    5.0 DRK is big wack.
Both GNB and DRK need to be looked at in that regard.

    But yeah, PLDMasterRace lol.

    U wot m8?

PLD can use Oath to... Mitigate with Sheltron... Mitigate with Intervention... Or... Mitigate with Cover...

All Tanks have been railroaded into having one dimensional gauges. WAR, GNB and DRK can only do damage with their gauge while PLD can only mitigate with their gauge.

At best, you have DRK whom can spend MP on TBN or on their oGCD's. But it's only a matter of time before that too, gets removed. Given the way that SE have been going about simplifying everything about Tanks and making sure that the "Blue DPS" meme stays alive and healthy by preventing any sort of choice of actions that lets you decide between mitigation and DPS (While having mitigation actually be a relevant choice over DPS at any point in the entire game outside maybe Ultimate content...)

I'm not talking about the Oath Gauge or the DRK Gauge. I'm talking about ressources, specifically MP. GNB and WAR don't use MP so they don't have any ressource outside of their gauge. So they should be able to have something related to mitigation that you need to consume resources for and trading off dps for mitigation.

    . . .
The Oath / Blood / Powder / Beast / MP gauge are all resources. The fault isn't in your argument, it's in your wording. Choose better words so misunderstandings like this can be avoided.

Now though, to address your point. Yes, GNB/WAR really don't care about their MP. WAR never really did except for when it could crossclass Flash. Beyond that WAR doesn't really do much thats... magical. So I don't see them really needing MP at all. GNB on the other hand yeah. Charging their shells with aether does lend credence to them having some magical prowess, but how they've decided to implement that is via generation through GCD combos. Sure there could be more done with MP there, but that's bringing up design debates well above anyone's paygrade here.

Er... Blood gauge isn't used for anything but DPS either...

It's Bloodspiller, Quietus, or Living Shadow.

The Power gauge is just a faster version of the other tanks gauges. Both Blood and Beast require half the gauge to do whatever DPS skill requires it, Power just fills up in exact halves instead of by 10/20%.

Mana is used for mitigation or dps, which is a resource DRK use.

Yeah this was worded poorly but I get what you mean.

DRK has two resource bars and one can be used for mitigation. PLD the same. WAR KINDA can use beast gauge for healing due to nascant flash. Meanwhile GNB cannot use its resource for anything but damage, not even getting minor ways of using it for healing or mitigation. Not to mention GNB's guage is, imo, too limited (3-4 powder's max would have been best). They really need to give them something more.
