Wow, what a thought that a high population server might incur long queue times immediately after the launch of a new expansion for a popular MMO. Totally unexpected.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
So i play on Ragnarok EU.
Normally I can get a log in q of up to 30, which is understandable.
I try to log in now, 1221 in the q.
Now i get new xpac hype and bla bla, but this is unacceptable.
If its a server glitch, fair enough, bugs occur.
But if this really is congestion, then wtf is square doing seriously.
Must i pay to xfer to a less populated server?
Something of a joke if so.
Spriggan has no queue, Louisouix also on Chaos DC the servers with higher queues are Cerberus, Moogle and Ragnarok for obvious reasons.
The census haven't been released yet but pretty sure that Cerberus and Moogle must be the most populated servers in Chaos still none of the servers are yet congested.

So what do you think SE should do about it? A server can only hold so many people. Should the server kick people off when others people try to log in? Should SE limit the amount of time you can play before getting booted for the server?

Aren't they kicking inactive players after 30 minutes of inactivity ? Althought they are ways to bypass that, for sure.
They threatened to restart any server that went over capacity to kick those very people, so while there's ways around it I'd be careful of doing it on populated servers.
Use the world visit system!

Not that it bothers me. But suggestion doesn't bypass first que. Maybe in two years for next expansion it will give people option to log into a less populated world. Balmung has been pretty good 1k a couple times. It must have been all Gilgamesh's fault (^_~) in the past.
