What is the scope of Glamor Plates?

I still don't get it: I can save a set of glamors on a glamor plate, but e.g. when wanting to use a separate glamor set for each DoH I have to apply the corresponding plate each time I switch to said DoH, as all DoH use the same items when within the same level range, but the items can only hold 1 glamor?

That is just a limitation of the core glamour system. The Glamour plates exist so that you can quickly reglam your gear when you get a new piece without having to spend all the time searching through the list of gear on you, and without having to carry around entire sets of gear for the purposes of putting your glam back together when you get new gear.

It also serves to allow you to easily assemble a glam without having to do it piece by piece at a time.

If you've got the plates for it, just link the gear set for each crafting class to the plate you've made for that class. Glamours automatically applied when you switch.
