Wow...
That would mean giving WHM viability, or going fully into the whole HLR BLM and increasing attack spell and DoT/HoT potencies as opposed to going through the whole bait & switch/monkey's-paw routine with the other two Healing classes...

I played this game as WHM for a full 24 hours yesterday and I think what they've done is brilliant. I won't go over a full analysis of it but at level 75 it is very satisfying.
I just feel sad, because I know it's only a matter of time before it gets changed. The devs are really good about listening to feedback but I worry they'll quickly change what they've been developing for 2 years and it'll hurt the job in the long run.

Ewwwwwww, it's all glowwy again!
Having played all three healers in the 71 dungeon, Whm was the easiest, Scholar and Astro were about tied.
Honestly I felt the same about Scholar to start with, it could maybe use some adjustments but generally I didn’t find myself disliking it.
After seeing the forums and reception though, I’m starting to seriously regret choosing it now that I see the countless Scholar threads about how awful and terrible the class is and how anyone who enjoys it is just plain bad.
I’d love if they worked on making Scholar more of a utility oriented healer rather than just green dps, but I’ve given up now. Your opinion doesn’t matter if you’re the minority, so I’ll probably just jump to Dancer like everyone else once I get it to level 70
There's quite a big chunk of overreaction. We've lost a huge chunk of our resource pool not only by way of the changes to MP, but with the inevitable gear inflation reset that comes with a new level cap. That'll take a bit of time to adapt to.

I mean, I'm moaning about it. The only reason WHM came off relatively better than the other two is because WHM had the least to lose - it was already braindead boring outside of its one niche (i.e., early progression). After we got screwed at SB launch with an utterly worthless Job gauge / mechanic, we waited two years for imitation Aetherflow, discount Indom, and zombified Divine Seal. In exchange we lost a quarter (lol) of our damaging abilities. As it is, White Mage has just 4 oGCDs with a cooldown of 60s or less - Scholar has 10. There's nothing left of White Mage for them to ruin. They should have addressed that, instead of completely destroying the defining characteristics of AST and SCH.
Alas, it seems everyone here has developed learned helplessness, so we'll probably see some things to patch up SCH and AST, and WHM will spend another expac being the queen of leveling dungeons.
I hope so.
Like, I’m not saying the job is perfect in its current state, I understand people’s issues with things like not having anything to dump Aetherflow on and having less to do with the GCD during healing downtime. I just don’t think that the developers intentions were that misguided. They’ve just been poorly executed.
