




PLD is the most fun its ever been honestly. I found it boring as hell in 4.x tbh, stopped playing it pretty much completely, after maining it for raids in 2.x and 3.x.
Stances added nothing to PLD's gameplay, they were a hindrance more than a boon, and the "choice" of using an aggro combo wasn't there if you wanted to play at a high end. You simply didn't use it and hoped your DPS and healers were on their aggro management, and your other tank was MT.
Have you even done any of the difficult content in this game? The things that actually require thought? Doesn't look like it from what I can see. Why is it always the people who don't attempt difficult content who get the most upset when things change like this. Its been this way in every "the game is too easy, too simplified" thread I've seen yet.
Also, for someone who is so against the cash shop, you sure have a lot of cash shop mounts.

I dont know what game you were playing till now but aggro was always a non issue, so now we get a slightly more involved dps rotation. Except drk, i agree the rework is whack

I hate the changes to tanks since SB expansion and it got no better here.
Common sense is not so common anymore.

Yeah all tanks have been dumbed down a bit, but I suppose they just streamlined what I was already doing. I didn't need butchers block, and Equilibrium, a healing skill of all things was my enmity generator.

I absolutely LOVE the for changes. Unlimited aoes! No more spam dark arts to do good dps, the replacement skills are cool too. The way they incorporated dark side into it was brilliant too.
And let's not kid ourselves emity was already a joke before. If you were geared you barely needed tank stance after the aggro pull, so I don't mind that we only got a tank stance that just effects emity

Do you also love having to work twice as hard to do the same exact thing as other Tanks because of DRK's slow MP regen and high MP costs?
Do you also love having still non-existent utility compared to the other tanks?
Do you also love being turned into an inferior copy of a class that already exists?
Do you also love having the depth of your class be utterly gutted and tossed away resulting in the most repetitive, and boring Tank class in the game?

I know you're talking about DRK and I agree, it has its issues but that doesn't mean that ALL tanks are boring/bad to play I love how GNB plays and WAR and PLD look super fun to play and I love the changes to them. WAR was the defacto MT with Unchained, No one misses Flash, and Dark Arts spam was a hand cramp, those are a few things that are gone that were just either jank or not fun to play, I never liked using Unchained + Equilibrium in my opener just for threat it was unneeded.Unlimited AOEs...cool...you're aware every other tank has these too right?

I like the changes but off topic (sorta) I'm not a fan of what they did to DRK and it's why I'm not playing it this xpac the rework just wasn't executed properly, well thought out but boring and about as deep as a puddle.
Replied in bold to each statement. I'm not saying DRK and GNB don't need some changes to bring them in line with the other tanks, at the very least DRK needs a buff to how much MP it can recover, but ultimately it's all a matter of opinions. You are aware that good tanks used their enmity combo a grand total of one (1) time in the fight, right? There was no reason to spam the thing. Ever. Also see: Dark Arts spam.

DRK already had to work twice as hard to do the exact same things other tanks could do back in 4.0. Dark Arts forced a lot of double weaving and their damage output was pretty low for how much they had to do.

Uh... if anything DRK's sole party utility, TBN, is better now and they got actual party utility in Dark Missionary, as lousy as it may be.

Nothing new. If anything DRK now has more of an identity than it did in SB, even if it's just a glorified dot and flashy dark effects.

While I agree that the 4.0 MP bar back-and-forth was quite amusing, it added about as much depth as a puddle IMO. I was never a fan of how easy it was to regain MP on DRK and, once you figured out how to manage it, keeping enough for TBN at all times was extremely easy and even somewhat tedious. It's the same now, just slower.
