Time Mage would be cool. Galaxy Stop for the effin win.

Or..in a similiar train of thought. (though I dont personally like this idea in itself, but it could help solve an issue) render Anima regeneration null UNLESS you spend time in a private room/residence. If you're in the field, your anima simply wont regenerate, it pauses. Once you return to your Room, the clock begins again. Again granted at an increased rate than it is now because people would like to spend more time in the field than they would in their rooms. But no one should be playing 24/7 anyways.

I wouldn't mind an increase of anima while staying in your room. I also wouldn't mind having other modes of transportation that may take longer than an instant tele, but much faster than riding on your mount. Then again, it really is nice to see a very bustling world. Other than the fact that many people logged on to experience the patch, I see many people actually choco'ing around, using the airships... it's actually really nice. Feels like there is actually some "life" when I'm running around outside of town.
... you never saw it coming.
When the world expands double and triple the size now...when it takes you a week to walk from one end of a city to the next world away...you'll be wishing you had more anima.
And you propose anima takes away from exploration? The fact that I have explored the world makes my anima useful. I can't port to places I've not been...so to say that my exploration of the world is lost because there is anima is ludicrous!!!
And anima is part of lore...anima is a part of the stream of life of the land...it's what flows and allows us to flow with it. So um...there's many ways to play a game...don't try to dictate how the rest of the player base should have to play.
If you want to CHALLENGE yourself with not ever using anima be my guest...don't force it on the rest of us.
There are days I love walking the world...and there are days I'm dead tired so I use anima...
I was so bored because there is no danger from moving from point a to b that I fell asleep 15 minutes into my travels and I meant to spend a good 5 hours playing that night.
So um..yeah...no thanks on the ixnay of anima.
And there are a lot of future things that anima could be used for. This thread is BORING!!!
Yep, look at my post count.. I just couldn't take another one lmao... The only reason I replied was to hope to spread the opposite opinion if justified. I wants more anima. Even if I have to rest for it... And I still think that's an awesome compromise idea if there's any dev's actually reading this. It's the same food/oxygen/sex cliche. You don't need any until you're not getting any.

FFXIV is not a hardcore MMO. It was designed with casual gamers in mind. Anima and Rest XP means that I can play the game seldom 1-2 hours a night, maybe less, and still enjoy it just as much as someone who doesn't have work/family/other responsibilities. I don't have 20-30 minutes to waste running on a Chocobo when I only have 2 hours to play, I wanna log on, look up a quest i've not done, go do it. Use anima to facilitate me quickly moving from a to b, have fun, log off.
anima is just a really bad version of ffxi teleporting. i think they just wanted to remove the need to depend on others since at the end of the life of that game it was hard to find ports after tele bots were removed. but the problem is we didn't have a number on how many times we could port, ffxi if you were active you probably ported at least 5times a day, i probably ported all day long 10-20 times easily. also we had many other types of ways to port like op. the time it takes from a crystal to where your going is long enough, it is basically as far as anything needs to be to get to. specially at moment. at worse they don't need the side crystals nodes to port to but ...give those a cost, not give us anima costs for day to day stuff. also new zones they could make longer runs as our caps go up and we get new zones. otherwise need to lower and remove anima cost.

Don't be retarded OP, if you don't like teleporting just don't use your anima. The rest of us have lives and can't spend hours upon hours traveling to and from nodes to get quests done.
