Meh, I'm adjusting well to the new SCH myself. I like having a PBAOE I can spam while I keep the tank targetted for a quick Lustrate if needed.
Yes, it got easier, but I think it's premature to call us gutted at this point.

I agree. I enjoyed Bard in stormblood since it actually felt like a support Job, and they did a goof job at keeping it simple to play but hard to master due to how complex it can get.
Now I feel gimped immensely. Also they took away basically the whole appeal of being bard, so I'm basically just a ranger that sings to himself during battle.
How could someone complain about job while missing 7 of its crucial skills and traits?
Tell that to monsters, Tank, DPS or Healer, all must fight and being so weak is not nice.
I don't see why Healers must have the crappiest DPS, I believe we should be as powerful as any DPS, current power balance is broken and needs to be fixed!...
We should never parse more than 20% of the top DPS' parse in the party. Because we should be tying for top HPS with our co-healer in 8 mans. We should always be topping it in 4-man content.
Our DPS is there for when things are going smoothly and we have properly mitigated incoming damage to a standstill. Situations where regen and the occasional Solace patches off an ally, and we don't need to Cure/C2 or Med1/Med2 for any reason. We can push phases, but we should never be fighting for Top 5 on the parse.
"Powerful"? WHM only had two direct damage abilities and the animations have always felt as such. Welcome to WHM town, where you don't mistakenly think you're a DPS that has a partial healing kit.
They actually addressed why they removed Straight Shot: apparently some players were finding it “too difficult” to upkeep the 30 second crit buff it gave us, and they wanted to “simplify” things for those players. I am not kidding—they actually said that’s why they did it during the PLL about the job changes. On subject, but kinda off subject but I'm curious as to why BRDs can no longer shoot straight (Straight Shot) but have to have luck (Procs) in order to do it. Is the constant migraines the WoL get affecting it's aiming ability or am I reading waaay too much into it? Maybe it will make sense once I'm capped but I just wonder about the decision and direction the dev team chose to go in.

Before I start my small note, let me say this: I am not max level, and I recognize this may change as I get higher in level.
That said, the levelling experience for summoner has been...erm....well it's just not as much use anymore. Used to be you could at least use Titan or Carby to tank 3 mobs at once so you could use your Bane on occasion, maybe farm some aldgoats for leather and so on, hold diremites in place while you Dotted them down. Even against higher level fates you could use them and your heal pet command Sustain.
This 2-use shield OTOH is pretty much useless in these cases. It's great while it holds, but it falls SO FAST. Against 3 mobs a full 10 levels beneath me it holds for 8-10 seconds. The second charge will do the same, and then you're getting beat on. Previously I would use titan to participate in Fates 6 levels above me, kill basilisks (also 6 levels above me) in Northern Thanalan for GSM mats I needed. I don't know if this holds true the further back in level you go, but thinking back to a few of the duties and other fights, I can't imagine topaz carby being so useless.
Anyway that's all I had to say. I know high level is more important and all, but there are still new players who play this game too so I thought maybe this could help. I would just assume I was supposed to kite all day, but until Ruin 2 you can't even do that so I don't think that's the intent either. Maybe I'm overlooking something.

Ninjas assassinate feels weird now. I don't know why I need to use dream within a dream so I use it now instead of how it was. I don't know what the logic was behind that.
Wow, and I played bard in stormblood because it was one of the more simple classes :VThey actually addressed why they removed Straight Shot: apparently some players were finding it “too difficult” to upkeep the 30 second crit buff it gave us, and they wanted to “simplify” things for those players. I don't like how the classes have been made more simple,
and yet, after my experiences of this patch so far, maybe the playerbase needs it that simple. The playerbase is worse than I remember :/
There are still people who do actions after they are rezzed and die right after they raise because of it, instead of waiting a second for heals, and when there was an A rank that uses cleaves while rotating, and so many couldn't rotate with it.
