Your daily XIV routine (post 1.21)

I know it may seem early, but I'd just like to compare and share. How do you typically spend your FFXIV time? How long is a typical day? Would you consider yourself a casual player, or a hardcore?

I figure if everyone shares and compares too, the community and the devs can get an interesting look at how their players play the game. If nothing else, it'd be an interesting read for those who spend lots of time and effort trying to fix this game.

    Me, I'm definately casual.

I log in, check to see if my nonexistant friends are online playing. If any are, I see if a party can get started or see if I can get any help on quests if I need it.

If not, I craft until my Inn exp bonus is used up. I've fallen out of love with playing solo in this game. It's just not rewarding for the time it takes to do things, especially with GLA as my main. I'll get around to leveling my other War/Magic jobs eventually...

I'm waiting on my friend to catch up so we can duo as GLA/PLD and CNJ/WHM. She's not always available to play. When she is we usually just blow through some levequests. If she falls behind I PL her a little bit or do something else.

I have other long-time FFXI friends just now entering XIV. I'm being patient waiting for them to catch up so we can all group up. It's been a pretty exciting couple of weeks so far. I have to warn them all about the terrible UI, but otherwise they seem pretty happy with the game's progress.

I don't generally go looking for parties unless the stars align. I mostly just get on, play with friends, and do some quests, then log off back in the Inn. I have maybe 4-5 hours to play per day, but I usually end up spending 3 or so unless I have extra time.

I find that despite everything the game offers for me to do, I can't force myself to sit through it for longer than 5 hours unless I'm playing with friends. It's funny to me. I've been playing on and off since Beta and I've never once had an issue with Fatigue exp while that was in place, because real fatigue would set in before I could keep going.

I play other games in my spare time when there's nothing to do in XIV. Or you know, that real life stuff.

    Go me~

I'm quite a casual player too, though I didn't play the Beta, just retail as soon as it was out. I took several breaks in that time too until around patch 1.17, give or take a patch, but been playing continuously since then (though still casual).

Because of disabilities and health issues, I'm unable to work so I could play almost all the time that I'm awake, but I don't.

The game runs 24/7 in the background but the majority of that time I'm asleep or watching shows or reading so my actual play time varies between 2 and 10 hours a day.

Of that time, I spend most of it just sitting around and chatting with LS mates while crafting (yay for the crafting timing update, I can actually type and craft at once now!) or fishing or other low maintenance activities.

When I'm playing the game for fun, I like to do quests (especially the crafting quests, battle isn't fun for me).

Other things you might find me doing are GC leves over at Bald Knoll, browsing the market wards for crafting materials, in the occasional experience points party or running around fixing the gear of random strangers.

I also have 2 mules, and their time is spent standing around looking pretty (mainly in Uldah or somewhere near me), holding my things or teleporting friends around. Now they spend most of their time resting.

When I'm not playing but still in FFXIV mode, I'm often reading these forums or researching recipes to make next.

    Hello everyone.

I'm not one of the most aggressive adventurer in Eorzea. Although I do like to spend a fair bit of time doing things, I'm not overly concerned with getting everything.

I usually start my day by waking up at my Inn, and heading down to the shops! I love shopping, so I check if anything I need is in stock and how much I can afford. If I find any good craftable items, I find a nice little corner somewhere and work on perfecting my crafting skills.

I often keep an ear out for shouts for anyone interested in some fun group adventuring, off to kill Primals (or the super rare Moogle shout). I tried raising my little flag and hope people would /search me out, but that has shown to be less than useful.

While crafting and keeping one ear out (I'm an Elf, so I can pick up a lot with one ear), I also spend a fair bit of time listening on all my LSs. I wish it was easy for me to swap pearls whilst crafting, but alas I can not seem to manage it. And chatting on my LSs is one of the things I do the most.

Eventually I'll hear a shout out for some Iffy fun, or enough people on my LS wake from their slumber and are able to drag themselves (and me!) out to explore a strong hold or search for coffers and find pretty treasure!

When I don't have anything to do in town, and eveyrone is busy sleeping away, I will often steal myself to go exploring and adventuring on my own. This is a great time for me to see new and distant lands that one rarely visits. Or to hone one's skill in one on one combat against dangerous enemies and foes.

At the end of the day I return to my room at the Inn, take a hot shower, eat a hot meal, and curl up in my warm bed dreaming of Hildebrand what adventures may await me tomorrow.
