This is such a stale and terrible argument and has no basis in human psychology whatsoever.
You can find people contrarian and dim, tell them so and not raise your blood pressure a speck.

I dunno man, you seem kinda cranky and bent out of shape, you on here arguing about a job that ain't even been out a day. 'Beloved Dancer'? Bruh we've only been playing this job for a day and some people just like what they see, like me. Again... it's not that deep? Idk what you want me to tell you ffff.1. You did respond to my post about the quite lacking Dancer mechanics when you just could've read it and not said anything, which means you indeed do care to some degree
2. You didn't falsify my points and rather claimed that 6 abilities locked behind a 50% chance is a "niche"
3. You're using a language which quite clearly shows you're getting emotional + you really don't want to hear a dissident dissect your beloved Dancer
EDIT: Also I said it's my niche, not that it's niche... :T
Also I mained Bard, anyone who come into this thread screaming and crying about Dancer's proc system this, Dancer's proc system that, honestly, if you ain't heavily mess with 4.0 Bard I don't even want to hear about how bad Dancer's proc system to you is, goodbye.

That's why I enjoy Dancer sooo much!! Yeah OP if you don't like RNG, Dancer is probably not for you.Yes it's a proc-based job, sure, but that's my niche, that's what I'm good at, and this job plays nowhere near the same way as mch (did, I'm assuming? since old mch is dead and all...). Anyway, Dancer is really fluid, seems like it's something really easy to pick up, and as of right now it hits like a fourteen wheeler truck.
Like JediFirefly said, no one's holding a gun up to your head forcing you to play it. :x

You are the first one that is giving a proper answer to the OP, Kudos to you.
The rest of the answers is a bunch of ad hominem attacks towards the OP for no reason. Instead of clarifying why dancer is great, you just attack her and tell her to f..ck off, that nobody cares about her opinion. It really hurt in several ways to read trough this topic and I can see where the "Terrible Community" vibe is coming from when the average is: "Man, GTFO, STFU, nobody cares" towards a personal opinion.
It is very obvious that all the hate comes from Dancer players, but for some reason, there is barely any reason mentioned as why to play Dancer. The few aggressive responses get more upvotes than individual participants are posting in this thread, so the others do not even bother to explain why they think Dancer is cool. They rather just "Like" this nonsense pile of bashing towards the OP.
I mean, if you bark in my face how trash Red Mage is in your eyes, I will not bark back but explain why I do love it. Hence my huge signature.. This is how a discussion forum work.
For my part, when I saw dancer, I also made fun of it the entire day, and I also asked what's the deal with it. Let that sink in: "Dancer". This really leaves a lot of room for questions.
Sincerely,

Go take a nap.
Also, full offense and a full attempt to hijack this thread, congratulations to everyone who reached level 70 on Dancer yesterday! I didn't go to sleep until I did and it was worth it! I'm also among that slice of people that are switching from being a Bard main to Dancer, and I plan to take dancer into the Eden raids as well. ; u ; It'll be my first time savage raiding, so I'm really excited!

This being said, I hope no nerfs are incoming for this job; it doesn't need it. I believe it's balanced appropriately since its DPS capability is so tied into its dancing... you really have to dance in order to not hurt you and your party's dps output.
You're all wrong about MCH. You ALWAYS had 100% proc during wildfire burst (Which is what matters), so it was pretty consistent. BRD had it worse, since it had no guarantee that refulgerent would've been up during raging strikes + barrage window.
Everyone saying Dancer hits like a truck.. Well I only play'd MCH so far but I felt like my dps went 50% higher than it was. New overheat is down right broken, drill is hitting a 18sec cd 40k. Yesterday on lv70 alliance raid we speeded up a bit compared to pre patch. I dare to say all dps classes received significant buffs now that Healers are not an active dps class.

Some people like RNG proc-based jobs. Others don’t. Just because you don’t find it fun doesn’t mean others don’t as well. Personally, I find it incredibly enjoyable. I always feel like I’m busy pressing buttons, and it reminds me of how busy BRD could be sometimes last expansion when they had procs coming out the whazoo. The procs honestly aren’t that bad once you get it going, what with the procs on the base combo skills, the feathers, and eventually Esprit, I hear nothing but good things about its gameplay. Plus, Quadruple Technical Finish is one satisfying skill to land.I've been messing around with Dancer hitting a dummy and the whole class feels like a way worse MCH in terms of "50% chance to unlock an ability for execution":
- 2 single-target + 2 AoE abilities are always usable, also you can use Standard Dance on CD
- 4 abilities are of the "50% chance to unlock" kind
- 2 abilities are "50% chance to unlock after using a 50% chance to unlock ability"
How is this class any fun?
Pressing the same 4 buttons over and over, hoping that one of the other 4, any then maybe one of the other 2 will unlock.
