    my first impressions of new WAR

    8 skills lost.

    Looks like I've got the forked tree here again. Opener with damage buff on Control, regular on 123.

    1. Looks like the only way tanks have to respond to damage is over here on the war still, thrill of battle gained the clemancy effect that the others lost.
    2. Holmgang doesn't take a target anymore, short window, but it always was.
    3. Infuriate, yup this is the one with the charge on it. "I'm Always Angry!"
    4. Oooh, a closer at 62, no charges though.


    I feel like I've got the best handle on how WAR handles, right up until the end of HW, then it just slips from my grasp. Hopefully as I get these new pieces it'll click for me.

    how does War at lv 80 (or close to 80) feel?

    hear players complaining about how dumb it plays now (but are only at lv 72/73-ish)

    does it get better / at 80?

    WAR has changed very little. The least out of the three tanks in fact.
    The most noteworthy thing is that Infuriate should not be used in combination with Inner Release, as it wastes the forced direct crit of Inner Chaos/Chaotic Cyclone.

    oh kk..

    my friend is complaining, its too dumbed down, with both tank stance and aggro rota gone.., and even the new aoe extends the "war buff", making war tol simple..

    but my friend is onlt 72/73-ish (is trying gunbreaker now instead)

    does War feel better / whole at 80? or still to simple?

    (hear others complaining about othe classes too, like Sam.., worring Yoshi might have gone too far and "f...ked up" classes, making too many classes too simple (wich would be a great pitty, since the rest of the expansion us just freaking marvellous and beautiful)

    Playing WAR, from what I gleaned off the abilities tool tip, I feel WAR is neutered.

    Been a WAR main since 2.2. Currently level 78. I am not the best raider, but have done my share. I currently really like it right now. I will hold full judgement once I get to 80.

    Our main combo for ST hasn't changed from SB. It is still SE->SP->SP->SP->Repeat. As for AoE, it has changed, but I am sure most can guess how it works. The nice part is pulling and opening with 2x CC->5xDecimates->1x CC. Feels better than SB and HW iterations, mainly because I loved SC and was sad to not really get to use it.

    1. I honestly don't know what you mean by this point. BTW, it was Convalescence, not clemency. Unless you are talking about the self-heal part, but that has always been the case with thrill.
    2. Holmgang also got a 60 second increase on its CD. Guessing raid encounter will now keep this in mind. Holmgang abuse is likely no more.
    3. And it feels great having that extra charge. Cant wait for 80 for 3x IC in opener.
    4. Have to keep in mind that Onslaught is also on a 10 second CD. With it costing 20 BG at 100 potency, it is likely a DPS loss to spam it now since FC is now 590 potency plus IC's 900 potency. DRK and PLDs will most likely be madatory for DPSing, wheres WARs is now more suitable for quick add pick up. I have yet to see what the Balance has said about this though.

    TBH, OP, sounds like you may not really even play WAR. Why comment on it then?

    is Yoshi trying to make one "easy to use dps tank" (war),

    one "easy to use defensive tank" (pld)

    one "complex to use dps tank" (gun)

    one "complex to use defensive tank" (drk)??

    or something like that, to get and entertain more casual players for tank roles, ..while still keeping the HC player happy??

    I dont think they where hard to play before. I havent really touched warrior yet with the new expansion but was upset when they took away the healing from their abilities. Been using pld, as on paper it had the most damage available to it from what was released and the best utility. Mitigation seems to be gone for all the tanks. I dont know about gunbreaker or drk, but war and pld where neutered when it comes to their defensive cool downs. Offensively pld feels much better and honestly i dont know how war will compete in dungeon runs. Did a leveling roulette and ended up on the mist dragon stage. That fight was a nightmare for most healers before. Now it was damn near impossible with cool down nerfs and extra damage coming in. We only survived because i was able to assist the healer with heals. Pld has massive amounts of aoe and single target damage now with physical and magic attacks.

    War was my favorite job before and i will get it to 80 after i get my pld and sch there. Currently using pld to do the msq since ques are bad for tanks and sch doing all my dailies. Sch was also nerfed bad in the damage department where as my whm feels exactly the same with better healing.
