    A bit frustrated that i spent most of the day just trying to download the update for the launcher, then the client ( couldnt even get the client download to get past Region and languages select screen), then the launcher again while not really makeing any breakthrough, while at least being able to download the client on my sisters computer (she was far behind in updates) no issue and still cannot for the death of me figure out why. Hopeing when i get off work that things work.

    Again, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

    Still haveing the same issue with the client download just not going past select region/language.

    Starting to get pretty frustrated, I bought the preorder so I could at least log on during early access so I could try out some of the content on my off day, but I can't even download the client. Is there any way i can get help directly? Because it feels like mods have hardcore abandon my thread.

    Not sure if this will help but anyway:
    Open
    \Documents\my games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\FFXIV_BOOT.cfg
    with a notepad and find this string there:
    "BootVersionCheckMode"
    Then try changing it's value (If it's 1 - change it to 0 and vise versa)
    If this won't help - I suggest returning the default value.

    If the issue persists:

    Turn off ALL firewalls, turn off ALL virus protection (Windows Defender).

    Quick edit: When you go in FFXIV_BOOT.CFG

    Make sure it's like this


    <FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>

    <Version>
    Version 2
    Language 1




    As far as I'm aware Language 1 is english, as for region, i think region 1 is JP, region 2 is NA, and region 3 is europe....could be wrong there though

    Ive tried that, even went as far as completely uninstalling Avast. The problem I am having now is the client itself. I went to the website and got the client download and started it up. It loads and the first thing it asks "Region/language select" I click accept, a blue bar goes by for a sec, then its back on the "region/language select" screen. It repeats that if you click accept, and its driving me up a wall trying to figure out why suddenly this happened. I was literally on the game the day the servers went down for maintenance.

    So, I at least got the game installing now.

    Ended up going into safe mode and was able to get the client to download. From there, got out of safe mode and removed some things (Iobit related software) and it seems like everything is working now. Unsure what suddenly cause the issue, my guess is something with iobit.
