    Concerning the world transfers

    A friend of mine had applied for a server transfer from Mysidia to Balmung, but their account subscription ended on the 9th before the lock in date. They still had the server selected in the list and it said Balmung was awaiting transfer, but now when they try to check, it wont let them because it's not active. Will this transfer still go through, even if the account was inactive before the servers were locked in? They are planning to reactivate on the 27th or 28th when server transfers are finalized.

    If it was selected for a transfer the transfer should happen regardless of activity or activation.

    Conditions Required to Apply for a World Transfer
    To apply for a World transfer, an existing playable character must be associated with a player's service account. As long as a player has at least one usable character, a destination World may be chosen for all characters in the service account, including characters that have not yet been paid for.
    * To view and change subscription details, visit the Square Enix Account Management System and click Select Service on the left-hand menu, and then select FINAL FANTASY XIV.
    Interpret it how you want but to me for a character to be "Usable" I would think your account would need to be active. If you don't have an active subscription you cant log in. If you can't log in you can't use your character and thus you would default to the world merge in the chart, not a selected world. And with all the new job content to play right now and everything to explore in game why not go ahead and pay for another month and avoid the risk of ending up somewhere you don't want to be?

    OP's friend already DID apply though and now AFER applying the sub ran out.
    I think you are safely going to the server you selected, but, just to be sure, you might want to send a help ticket to Costumer Support.
    Not like it would change anything, neither you nor your friend can change which world you go to anymore anyway..

While it may feel like this problem is technical in nature, you are still having issues with the account itself, and not any actual technical issue with FINAL FANTASY XIV.
