Same problem here.

Windows 10
nVidia GTX 1070 gaming laptop

The game will only open with DX9.

DX11 crashes and gives same error as OP

Things I've tried:
Rebooting computer - still crashes
Reinstalling FFXIV - still crashes
Updating my nVidia geforce 1070 graphic drivers to newest version - still crashes

same issue runs on directx9 (which is unsupported) but give errors if run with directx11

Getting the same DX11 error after patching. Game worked fine until then.
Alienware laptop with RTX 2060 in it

DX9 works though :<

Having the exact same issue as everyone else. Running on an Asus ROG laptop with a 1060 Nvidia card, can run fine on DX9 but not at all on DX11. Game worked perfectly before the update. Fix your expansion, SE!

Exactly same issue here. Had no problems before the Shadowbringers. Can't play using DX11.

From this thread it looks like everyone with the DX11 crash is running a laptop. Is there anyone on a normal desktop with the crash? I also am running a laptop with a 1070.. hmmmm

My brother has this issue. He's using a laptop with Nvidia GTX 1070. We just started a reinstall and I'm so bummed to see this didn't help.

I play on a laptop but didn't have the error but my laptop is older and has Nvidia 970M.
