I am also playing on 144Hz monitor and have the same issue with dx11.
I am also playing on 144Hz monitor and have the same issue with dx11.
i literally have no refresh modes on my card lower than 144, its a laptop so the two were built for each other. if this is actually the issue and square made this very dumb change without thinking of this i'll be quite disappointedWhat about changing it in display adapter properties? I wonder if the game can't see other refresh modes as being available and crashes because it can't lock it at 90. In display adapter properties click list all modes, do you have anything 90 or lower available? I had a similar issue on one of my computers with black desert online not seeing my proper list of refresh rates and setting the game to 24hz because of it. Just spitballing ideas.
It's ok !Hi everyone,
We're sorry that some of you are experiencing this issue. We are currently investigating the matter, so we ask for your patience until we find a solution.
In the meantime, we recommend that you please try lowering the refresh rate in your graphic card's settings.
Thank you again for your patience!
Down to 90 Hz , and the game launch.
How to made this :
-Right clic on your desktop Open Nvidia control Pannel.
-Choose Change resolution
-Create a custom resolution
-On the frequencie rate , chose 90 Hz Maximum !
-chose your custom resolution
-Launch FFXIV with DX11 setting
Enjoy the game !
( sorry for mistake, i'm french)
not sure what it means, but after completely disabling my integrated graphics in the hardware manager i was able to start the game without the error but now everything was running at 2 fps
on a related note, does anyone actually know WHY square made this change to cap the refresh rate? not once have i ever heard a single person complain over refresh rates in this game so i cant imagine why they did it
only option available on my gaming laptop for display is 120Hertz, everywhere i look it's the same. Hope you can give us a better fix soon.
I'll join the others posting about this. DX9 works fine, but get this error when trying to play DX11.
MSI laptop with Geforce 1070, and 120hz screen. Guessing the refresh is what's causing the problems....possibly because of that limiter they put in place?
I'm running a desktop with Ryzen 7, GTX1060 6GB, 16GB RAM and running the game from SSD so I'm not on a laptop.
Seems like Nvidia cards?
this did not work for me, but was hopefulIt's ok !
