Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
Are you experiencing an audio issue? Or is it a problem where your in game settings reset? Could you provide us with a little more detail in regard to your concern?
Hope to see you online!
It's not so much a problem as an annoyance since I have to always go into the config file and enter manual changes so that the game is running correctly with cutscene dialog. Again, my game is working (as intended), just trying to understand why I need to be constantly going into the config file to make this change.
It goes all the way back to this error that someone else posted on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...in_cut_scenes/
While there is a work around, just don't understand why it keeps happening.
Still waiting on a follow up since it's a patch again, and once again, that setting was reset to 0 and had to go into the config file to change it back.
Thank you for the reply Rangar. I apologize for the delay in our response.
You shouldn't have to change anything in the config file. Just so I understand the situation better. What happens if you leave the config file be? and what happens when you switch it to '1'?
When did this first start happening? What have you tried so far aside from changing that value?
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
If I leave the config file alone (that is, leaving it set to the default 0), all my cut scenes have no voice acting dialog in them. When I change the setting to 1 (which seems to be what everyone seems to have), the cut scenes all have the voice acting dialog return and the game runs as expected.
I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times since this started at the beginning of Stormblood. And every patch I seem to have to go into the config file and change that setting to get the cut scene VA dialog to return.
I've had this issue too, didn't have much voice acting in most of the Shadowbringers MSQ.
I was able to change my sound settings from surround to stereo in Windows to fix it.
By following this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...1-2973bc17ba9b
Then you close and start the game.
