It looks like a strictly worse version of spread shot, with spread shot being able to be gotten at a lower level... I can't find a single reason to use it, ever.

Auto Crossbow has a 1.5 sec recast, Spread Shot is 2.5 seconds.

Yup, but that dosen't matter, because both are on GCD. You can't use the autocrossbow faster then the GCD. When you use it, same spinny timer as everything else. So it don't matter how short the recast is, if you can't use it for another 2 seconds.

The little spinny timer is the recast. When you use Spread Shot, you wait 2.5s (reduced by SkS), when you use Auto Crossbow, you only wait 1.5s.
