Benchmark shows flying in 5.0 zones. Overall, I like the non-flying ARR zones better. They look more beautiful. It's too late to go back to non-flying zones though.

Seems like an overreaction given that we know for sure that there IS flight in 5.0.....
It will be tagged 3.0/4.0 because it affects those expansions. Either because that's where the mounts originated, or because that's where they'll now be able to fly where they previously couldn't.
If you still need further confirmation, go to about 10:30 into this VOD and he shows off flying from the last live letter. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/439126280
the benchmark clearly shown we are flying left and right... and underwater.
Blizz did it to cut corners and save money :P And it was a really dumb choice
But also I sincerely doubt they'd just up and poof flying with no word whatsoever. It probably just didn't make it into the preliminary patch notes.
Well they said the live letter that they use Aether to be able to flyThe only problem I have with flying mounts is if they don't have wings they shouldn't be able to fly, flying goobues look wrong lol. When they first introduced flying I did think it was stupid GC choco couldn't fly not to mention you got a black chocobo that could fly but you had to find the currents to be able to fly. Having just finished Heavensward, it was irritating that gathering was being hampered by having to quest currents and progress MSQ to be able to get to some currents.
That's not for flight though but for a new system for DotH/DotL classes to get exp through FATE linking to gain special gemstones as a currency - unfortunately SE just used a similar style of screen to the aether current screen for it, hence the confusion. But they're clearly two different things.
