Partial stack marketboard selling?

If I need 3 of something, I don't buy 50+ on the board. I either gather it myself, or level up whatever job is needed to make it.

The limit of 40 sales at any one time discourages selling small stacks which is why you see so few of them. (I'd rather put up 50 than waste space on 10 stacks of 5.)

Why not let sellers set a partial sales allowed flag on stack sales that lets buyers purchase as many items as they want from it? This should result in faster sales than waiting for some rich player purchasing your 99-stacks.

Why even require sellers to change anything?
Just allow us to buy x number of items from a stack that's for sale, at the price per item it's being sold for.

As long as there is preference setting for sellers to sell partial stacks I can support this.

If I'm selling a stack of x20, that's what I want to sell. If I wanted to sell a stack of x5, I'd offer a stack of x5.
If it was a flag I can select to sell "individual items", that's fine, but people sell stacks like that for a reason.

It's a completely different market that would lower the price on everything to the exclusive benefit of buyers over sellers.

Right now, there is a reason to price smaller stacks differently which would vanish if they implemented partial stack buys. I would not want to see that disappear.

Finally, if you only need a few items of a stack, you buy the stack and put the ones you don't need back on the market at the price you paid.

See, for me, it's the reverse. As a seller, it's a pain in the ass to have to eat up multiple sale slots just to sell off stock in quantities people actually want. I'm not trying to rip people off; I just want to get rid of my crap.

Finally, if you only need a few items of a stack, you buy the stack and put the ones you don't need back on the market at the price you paid.

Major crafters prefer stacks and when I sell I provide both stacks and smaller quantities. I wouldn't want my stacks being touched unless I had the option to say it's fine.

That's how it used to be before the 2.0
They went out of their way to change it so I would guess it was to encourage player to buy and sell in bulk.
