This constant notion that people throw out of stopping RMT bots is not only absolute speculation -- no one at SE has confirmed this to be the reason -- but pure garbage. Bots will be bots. Exploits will always exist. And bots weren't using "mAh fAnCy 90+hz" monitor to hack through walls. They were hacking through walls and teleporting via client side manipulations. To think they were sitting there tinkering with the fps of the client as they ran into a wall or jump repeatedly is markedly laughable. This change will not stop them. If the makers of bots want them to exist, they will find a way because engine vulnerabilities will always exist. This change is intended to stop the legitimate player from (inadvertantly) breaking the game with no ulterior motives. Quit defending actual bull shit. This change only hurts the player base, even if it's the "1%" you all claim it is.
Again, there seems to be a huge misconception about the real fundamental issue. Not all of us are complaining about the frame loss. I'd be happy to play at 90 if it actually meant I play at 90 without any issues whatsoever. Many of us are concerned about the software implementation of the frame limiter that has existed since 2.0. The use of the unlimited option would be the only way to prevent the consistent frame drops and microstutters the frame limiter introduced and I am one of those. I fear the microstutters and constant frame drops that the frame limiter that exists today would likely drive me mad and potentially quit the game. My only hope is that the max 90fps cap utilizes a completely different implementation that doesn't introduce the same problems we've been easily avoiding for the last 6 years.
wow I just saw the thread well that's extremely disappointing. It's pathetic how their excuse is "because we don't want to break PCs"
It's 2019 if your computer cant run at 144fps without blowing up then its time to upgrade

That being said, I imagine you are .1% of 14 million people. If I had to choose between stopping RMT while not blowing my budget on an engine rework, or catering to .1% of the population who runs equipment with the capability to use 144+, well it seems 90fps is what I would do as well.
Sadly just because you buy a Ferrari doesn't entitle you to drive over the speed limits in public places.

2: 144 is not new technology i bought this monitor back in 2015 and it wasn't even considered new back then.
3: This isn't to stop rmt and even if it was screwing your legit players to stop hackers is never the okay way to do things (and it would never stop them anyway)
