Hmm, if the cap brings the same issues as the the others besides unlimited, it will be a game breaker for me.

I have 3 monitors, middle one is for gaming with 1440p 165 Hz refresh rate (g-sync). On one of the side monitors i usually run netflix or youtube, makes grinding a lot less tedious. I usually set my gaming monitor refresh rate at 120 Hz, to avoid any potential issues with g-sync, due to games sometimes having 120 fps cap in them. And i play with borderless windowed, for obvious reasons.

Few weeks ago decided to give FFXIV a shot. Bought the base game, started playing, horrible micro stutter. FPS staying stable way above 60, no dips, but the micro stutter made the game unbearable. Googled for fixes, of them two solved the issue:
1) Run full screen resolution and turn on game optimization via Win 10 Game bar. Game ran butter smooth, stable 120 fps with g-sync, except for:
* Due to game optimization, every other program on windows had a horrible lag/stutter. So netflix and youtube unwatchable and trust me, i had more then enough resources available for them.
* Full screen on a multi monitor setup....
2) Unlimited - worked almost flawlessly in borderless windowed. No dips, always stays at 120 fps, butter smooth. That one small issues was:
* When i run netflix (fine with youtube) on a side monitor, the ingame fps jumps 140-150 and i get a very slight micro stutter (just to make clear, never happened with other games, so FFXIV specific). But that micro stutter is so miniscule that it's not a problem.

I personally don't mind playing at 90 fps, as long as it's a smooth gameplay. Anything 60+ with a smooth gameplay is fine for me. Horrible micro stutters aren't. So, if they force their V-Sync and it works the same way as till now, i'm dropping this game, it's not worth it.

And the stutter issue with their V-Sync on G-Sync monitors is a common issue. I don't see the reason why they would be doing it.
Brakes physics? I didn't even know they didn't work , though that explains why i didn't see any jiglin...
Bots? Would like to point out that they have said nothing about changing that 1/1 option. Assuming it stays as it is, it will still be as much fps as your monitor supports and your rig can dish out, so...
