High FPS on engines that are not designed for it can, and will, result in physics glitches.....but after seeing some of these bots in action, there is no way they are exploiting physics glitches of that nature.

In most physics engines, phasing through solid geometry is not smooth even if you can pull it off via a glitch. These bots are flying around like as if nothing is solid.
