AF is for higher levels.... I think that's where OP is getting at, the af shouldn't be so easy to obtain. I agree.

I believe most people are forgetting these quests start at lvl 30 and walking up and getting them at that lvl is not as easy at lower levels, opening 3 gates in a lvl 50+ aggro area would need the whole party...

Also those ones at the higher levels tend to be the fights most are needing 3+ tries at. So the perspective of everyone lvl 50 seems to be off.

*sighs* the patch is amazing... a bunch of silly complaints that ignore details like these are hardly useful for the progression of FFXIV

I believe most people are forgetting these quests start at lvl 45(af) and walking up and getting them at that lvl is as easy at HIGHER AND LOWER levels, opening 3 gates in a lvl 50+ aggro area would need 2 GOOD PEOPLE...

I think I fixed it for you. af doesn't start till higher levels. 2 out of 5 afs you can get at level 1. 1 out of 3 you can do solo at level 50 if you are good enough. 1 out of 2 you just need a group of 4 or 8 people to get it. The last one is the only valid af in terms of getting it.

ALSO, sucks for lower level players trying to find a party to get af, when everyone else has em LOL.

Well in my case I don't have a LS to help me out and my friend is only lv32 pug in the same boat as me for his job. I also don't want to join a LS just to ask for help, since I will break it if they are not the type of LS I'm looking for in the long term(I'm not into using people for anyone reason).

Asking to team up in Ul'dah is also not helping. The 50s are already back on their high horse again.


update: I just came across a nice person that helped me finally! Glad to know there is still someone that will help someone with few resources to accomplish something on his own. Thanks Ami Yami, you don't know how happy you made me this day.

its part of the level progression from now on not some endgame content, its a prerequisite for you being efficient at your job, don't expect AF to be the best gear for your job, its just an awesome looking stepping stone in your gear progression as time goes by and cap will go up.

and of course its easier when the whole server jumps on it at once.

doing the quests at the appropriate level and not getting groups handed to you on a silver platter like now will turn the challenge up quite a notch for future players

I have not played many hours since patch, and I already have two jobs with full AF. And more than half of a third...

To be fair, we've had a year and a half to grind to 50.

Besides, there's still achievements to beat, dungeons to crawl, gear to discover, and guild points to spend.

Oh gosh someone just raise the idea that it's easy because you have 50s class.
Think about new players and face it.

Just think about FFXI.. if you there's no AF quest and all you have todo is to lv to 75
then one day they add AF quest... and you can do it without any problem... that's wasn't SE's fault.

I'm sorry, are you saying that being above the recommended level is a good thing or it's square's fault for having level 30 quests be for level 30 characters or...I'm not sure I understand your intent.
