    Does this issue happen when using a different keyboard? What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue?

    I only have one keyboard. As far as what I have done to alleviate it - just as other mods have suggested. I initially just tried to turn the direct chat on and off but to no avail. I then deleted the locally-saved data folder. Which worked initially but the problem returned. I last thing I tried was to remove all keybinds that involved the ALT key but given that it was only a day or so ago when the problem arose again , I'm not sure if that is of any help or not.
