Your download speed is going to keep going down until it crashes and you have to restart. Happens every single time there's a new expansion. I'd say wait a least two hours before attempting to download anything and you should be fine.

Yeah I'm gonna give it a few hours before I try again because it keeps erroring out. Bleh.

I just went ahead and looked for the update before even going into the launcher. saved me time. Tho its going at a snail pace and my net is no slouch seeing as i have corporate speeds. SE is throttling everyone. Seems the launcher itself is 8.267 GB

On a brighter side Atleast I'm getting a rate of 10mbps now.

I switched to google dns and that seems to have sped it back up (or a really weird coincidence). I remember having to do this in the past though too (newer computer now), so maybe it will help others.

It went from downloading to patching at around 1400MB, around which time my speed shot back up.

Now it's plummeting again, and I have to assume this pattern is because other people are hitting the same checkpoints around the same times, i.e. when a bunch of people are patching and not downloading there's some bandwidth to go around.

My PS4 just downloaded a 8.267 GB patch. I’m guessing more is on the way.

Ahhh download time. Everyone's downloading a different sized patch and half of everyone can't get the download to finish. Truly a FFXIV tradition.

Yeah from the beginning. It errored out again and this time the patch size dropped to 6.1GB. Honestly I just want it done so I can take 1 more power nap before the maintenance ends.
