You're not losing the items. It's your choice to change or not. If you choose to change, you're making the choice to not use items you know are restricted. Therefore, it's not waste. You knew when you bought those items that they were restricted. What you have is buyer's remorse. You haven't wasted your money.

As for whether you get tired of being a bunny, I don't know if you will, but it's currently a FOTM thing, and most people grow bored of FOTM. (Flavor Of The Month) You may be one of the few who don't.

You sure seem to think you know a lot about how people feel better than them :s
It's not buyer's remorse. I bought the items I bought because I thought they had an amazing design and would have bought the female version if I had had a female character at the time. I also bought the mount and I have said nothing about it because it can be used by anyone. I never thought about the gender restriction because I wasn't thinking about changing, even so I could have never imagined the gender lock issue and when I thought of becoming a Viera I was sure I would be able to change them because I knew you could trade similar items in the game. It was only yesterday, when I was getting ready for ShB when I realised. The thing is there is no point in having them being gender locked when you have to pay for them and when you have to pay in order to change into a gender locked race. I am losing the capacity to use an item I bought on my character, which is the reason I bought it in the first place.

Then you haven't wasted your money. You admit you're happy with your purchase. You got what you wanted and you knew what you were getting when you bought it. Not liking that you can't do more with what you bought, after knowing what the restrictions on it are, is just silly. It tells you when you're buying it that it's for male or female only for the items that are.

If it's not buyer's remorse, then it's throwing a tantrum. Take your pick.

You mention other restictions, but the difference is those don't involve real money. If I change GC I will be able to do so free of charge and get all their items and mounts ingame. If I use Fantasia to change my race, I'll be able to buy their racial exclusive items ingame too. However, if I use a Fantasia to change my gender, I'll lose value on the money I have spent. If I change into a Viera, everytime I open my glamour dresser and see any of the items I'll think: "There goes my money for not being a fortuneteller."

To make things clear again, I understand the situation, but I think it's wrong to make players feel bad when they are forced to choose either to spend over 13 euros again or lose the value of their items because they weren't able to see the future 2 years before. After all, the experience should be focused on making players comfortable and happy. I'm not asking them to give free items or to lose money. It has already been bought. I just think it should be made tradeable like other items or unisex like they seemed to be heading with some previous decisions.
It's not a matter of fairness. They made a product with restrictions that they clearly notify the buyer about. Saying "it's not fair" when you ignore the product description is just childish.

You're right when you say I would have a lot of new glamours, but the main point is the money it costs.
You've already received the value for what you paid for, so you haven't lost or wasted money. Those items won't vanish because you fantasia to a different gender, and will still be in your possession. Yes, they are no longer usable but this is a circumstance of your decision to change genders. Those are going to exist wherever there are restrictions and you choose to change something. It could be race, gender, grand company, free company, main job etc.

Changing to Viera will likely blindside you in at least one of several ways. Even stuff you won't lose access to might not quite be the same. Hairstyles, emotes, and especially glamour choices you've unlocked all might not be to your liking on your bunny. It intangibles like this how people predict that people will change back after playing their bunny for a month or so. The only way I can think of to truly avoid all of that is to start a fresh character, but going through the grind again is not everyone's cup of tea.

You don't have to worry about that! They apparently can't use any hairstyles but their racial ones!

Nobody has a crystal ball, and foresight has never been SE's or the mogshop's forte. What I'm getting at though is that they are not intentionally trying to make players feel bad, and they are most certainly not forcing you to spend any actual money on the MS.

The aftermarket value of the items you purchase are determined by you. In your case, the value is still high enough to reconsider changing to a Viera. If you follow through with the fantasia, then yeah, you will have pretty much set a lower value on the items you will no longer be able to use. Because you indeed are not a fortuneteller, it would be a good idea to not discard any of those items in case you decide to change back.

Gender restricted Mog station gear, unlike "generic" gear actually looks very different based upon the gender. You pay your $$$ and get the look you want with the knowledge that it is restricted to that character and that gender.

If you then decide to change genders then sorry - if you want the vanity items also you have to cough up the extra. Just like if you went through it in RL and ball gowns or tuxedos cost a lot.

But I could wear high heels and a dress if I wanted in real life, right? Also, tuxedos and gowns can be bought on Mog Station through the Eternal Bond and traded ingame for free. Also, some items are race locked now and no one expected that. If I wanted to play a Lala but keep my items I would still be able to choose a male, same with Roe, Elezen and the rest. That will not be possible in two days' time.
