    Market Board & Dye Icon

    Hello all,

So, here's the situation it may sound greedy but I feel its 50/50, 50% wanting my item to sell but at the same time 50% awareness to the "Service" provided.

I guess this is a request to better show if an item on the Market board is dye or not.

As you can see in the below picture that on siren the black dye's go for 400k and "Eikon Leather Armguards of Casting" also go for 400k. I had an extra yellow feather lying around so I decided that it would be cool to dye my "Eikon Leather Armguards of Casting" jet black and then it would make the item more attractive. So, in essence you would be getting an 800k item for half off.

Also, as you can see in the below picture that the "Materia" is easily identifiable. As a consumer sometimes I check out the "Materia" item just because it might be better, I may be willing to pay and extra 50k just so that I don't have to do any melding.

My request is to add a new "Dye" icon so that the consumer knows that "Extra" effort was added in their sale.

All things equal why not by the "Jet Black" version for your wardrobe? Even if it is not the color that you wanted you can still place it in your armoire place the item in your glamor plate then take one of the cheaper dyes and just dye over it. Now you have the color that you want and a 400k always locked away in your armoire if you need.

How many times do we miss out on an expansive dye just because we only look at the "Price"?

TLDR: How often do you check "Dye" icon before you purchase an item?

Would you be willing to take an extra time to look at an item if at a glance you could tell it was dyed?

Does anyone dye their stuff before putting it up on the market board?

Would you be more willing to dye your items if you knew that there was an icon that made your item stick out more on the market board?

Thank for taking the time to read, just random thoughts.

I thought once it was purchased the dye went back to the default color.

I have no idea, but when I "Try on" the original is green and the one I'm selling is "Jet black". So while the item is sitting on the market board they do distinguish that they are different with the "Try on" option.

Well this is easy enough to test. I just purchased "Hard Leather Pot Helm" from an NPC vendor Note: when I purchased the item, it was dyed yellow from the vendor and when it hit my inventory it was still the same yellow. I dyed the "Hard Leather Pot Helm" gray (Vendor bought grey) put it up on the Market boards logged in as an alt and then purchased said item off the Market board and it kept its newly dyed gray.

So, no what ever color that the item is dyed and put up on the market boards stays that way on purchase. Tested and confirmed.

I can't see anyone using the expensive dyes on an item and then *not* using them as a glamour (making them unsellable). It might happen occasionally, but not enough to develop a system to point it out.

Dyeing something before putting it up on the marketboard seems unlikely, too. There would be only a small chance that the buyer wants it in that colour, so it's just a waste of your time and money/item to do so.
