    Perhaps it could be coded with a simple number in the text command?

    /emote is still the default five seconds
    /emote X holds the expression for X seconds
    /emote 0 is permanent until overwritten

    Or maybe, for easiness sake, a checkbox in the facial expression menu to keep it permanent...
