ffxiv_dx11.exe many error codes, game crash

Hello, I have been getting the following errors for the past few days and game is totally unplayable. Game runs from a few seconds to a max of a few minutes before crashing.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled game multiple times. Nvidia drivers are up to date. Windows updates are current. I have deleted local saved data folder. I have disabled all overlays.

Here's the error I got when it crashed after trying to run it in DX9 instead:

    Similar problems

    Hello -

I am receiving similar errors as of about a week ago. I have tried swapping out video cards, re-installing DirectX drivers, and have also reformatted my entire computer and reinstalled FFXIV, but still get the error message. I have also tried switching to DirectX 9 instead of DirectX 11, but am still getting similar messages.

My game generally runs for about an hour to two hours, and then begins crashing. Once it begins crashing, I re-log in, but the crash occurs again every few minutes after that. Would love any additional advice on how to fix this problem.

I have done the same thing. this is the only game that is giving trouble at this point and I am not sure what else to do. I even went and swapped for a new hard drive and SSD (as they were on warranty)

I tried running the game with the graphics set to LAPTOP instead of Desktop and now the game is playable. It's a desktop PC with an Nvidia 960 so I didn't think it would need to run on laptop mode, but I only have 2gb of VRAM so I'm thinking ffxiv is just too beefy for my recently replaced/downgraded gpu to handle.

The two files that are responsible for these errors and crash are from the game itself, not windows or any kind of drivers. I've done a month's worth of tweaks, adjustments, driver rollbacks, game reinstalls before throwing it all in the air and just wiping the hard drive and doing a clean reinstall of everything, including recent drivers. The problem persists.

The files themselves, ffxiv_dx11.exe and ffxiv.exe are not monitored by the launcher/patch program. I know this, because I removed both files (before the wipe and clean reinstall of everything) and launched the patcher, which did not replace them. The game won't run without them of course, and knowing how to backup before making changes allowed me to put those two files back. Regardless, after the wipe and reinstall, I got fresh copies, and as others have learned, this does not fix anything. The only common denominator I can see, and it may be wrong, is that the tech people have been reporting as their hardware is relatively new. Systems where components are a few years old are not affected, but once something newer is built, or a new video card is installed, bam, it starts happening.

I can't say it is a driver problem, because if it was, my super-clean install of everything fresh would have solved the issue, which it hasn't.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any updates (optional or mandatory) or changes been made to the PC? When the game crashes, are any other programs running in the background? Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Hope to see you online!
