The only complaint I have with the Mogshop is the addition of the seasonal event items. I think they should remain only available to those who participate in said events.

I just wish the stuff was account wide, especially the outfits.

Answer: Because despite being overpriced (and other issues that I won't mention because I'm tired of discussing them for years), enough people still buy them. Including some of the ones that complain about this or that item, but end up buying it anyway. You can do nothing about it, unless you're able to change people's minds to be better consumers, and more strong-willed.

The reason some of the Mogstation items are overpriced is because China or Korea made them, they set the price high and Square Enix has to comply with that price.
Just hop onto a Korean MMO and the first thing you will find is that you're basically playing $30+ per month on items and services.

The community keeps asking for Chinese/Korean items, well that's the price they set for their items over there in those countries.
if it's up to Square Enix on the other hand they give you fairly priced items for things made in Japan like $6, $10 or around $12-$15. Anything $20+ is China/Korean made.

PS. Yes they're made in Korea/China, the quality of what they make is lower than those made by Square Enix themselves. Just look at the princess dress and the cloud mount.

the only daylight burglary for me is Megaflare. the overall animation is so poor it costs 9 bucks.
other games sell mounts etc for 40+ bucks so i find the prices for FF overall reasonable[except the more recent emotes, yikes]

There is a site that tracks how many characters own each mount.

    Sleipnir - 23%
    Fat Moogle - 22%
    Fatter Cat - 22%
    Aquamarine Carbuncle - 19%

For arguments sake, I'll use Lucky Bancho's recent census. I will also assume out the 1.1M active characters, only a quarter of them are individual players. At $24 each, this amounts to $26.4M reasons why SE changes what they do. If cutting that in half, it's still a staggering amount of money. And that's for only four mounts.

Another thing to consider is Sleipnir has been out much longer than the rest. Still though that's a ton of cash.

Just because someone values something differently than you, doesn't mean they're a flawed consumer.

The idea that something that is a non-essential luxury is overpriced has always confused me. When the demand is purely "cause I want it" , then the market sets the value. If it was overpriced then it wouldn't sell.

Do you have any source to share? I have a hard time to find anything that could confirm this. I even read most of the interviews of Yoshida made in Korea, and I haven't found anything so far.

Not even 5 years ago microtransactions in a game were a bad this no matter what. Now rabid fans will defend cosmetic ones despite the obvious price gouging (mounts shouldn't cost more than full games). How long till you guys start to defend pay to win stuff since the game is pve (trick question people already are asking for then)?
