I absolutely feel like just about everything in the cash shop is overpriced, so I'll never buy anything from there. I would like to see the current price model fail and be replaced by a better one. The only way to have that happen is to not support the shop.

    That said this:

doesn't really make sense. The items on the mogstation don't come from no where. They have to be created by SE. If they need to work to provide us with something it's fair for them to expect payment. Why single outfits or mounts cost half as much as a full game is a total mystery, but there's no reason to expect the devs to give out anything new that they create for free.

I think the problem isn't the price, but rather pricing disparity, the cloud bike suffers from this the most. First of all, there should be no account wide/single character split, it creates a price divide and causes more problems than helps. Secondly, the gap between two seater and one seater mounts should be lowered. Currently there is a $6 difference to get an extra seat, which I feel should be dropped to $3 (probably coming out to $20 for single seater and $23 for two seater).

Cloud mount should also be $20, the price it is currently sat at is pure greed considering it is a single seater mount.

I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it - you like my mount? gee thanks, just bought it.

but jokes aside, I understand that some people cant afford that stuff, but I doubt they gonna change that any time soon. All you can do is get it when the stuff is on sale.

If you think xiv has a horrid shop let's just look at eso. To my knowledge as I quit long ago: Can't earn pets, can't earn cool mounts. For the cash shop? housing that can cost 10-150$ mini dlc that would normally be patch content, ability to play any race any alliance, a locked race, locked pvp content, classes, cool pets, cool mounts, and everyone's fav loot boxes which are actually microtransactons. Oh and it does always try to sell you something the shops ingame.

So if after that you still think xiv's is bad or horrid, yeahh... than sorry to say you just want free stuff for no effort because if you want a cool pet or mount in xiv, you can earn it... I know putting in effort for a mount? Crazy but if not sure you can pay, but not for free. So pick one, either earn or pay for stuff or both.

I bought the bike day one. Why? Because I am a ff7 fan, and I do love supporting the devs because they actually give a damn. If you are unwilling to put effort in for something or can't afford it don't, but don't expect handouts the world has never and will never work that way. If you can't save up for a 24 dollar mount you really should worry about your irl situation vs a in-game mount that mat or may not even be as cool as the earnable mounts.

i have a car, i pay for this car. do i get free upgrade? i want my car to have spoiler and "optional" stuff, do i get it for free?

my personal suggestion is leave the price as it is. but once every months, discount it down like 50% or something, that should get people interest

Your example doesn't work because here, you paid for the car, then you paid for extra. Here, we paid the game when we buy it, and we keep buying it every months. I would not complain to anything in the cash shop if they remove the subscription, but since we pay a subescription so they have income to develop the game, I expect to have access to the content, since I already paid for it. I know it can be hard to understand, but that's what it is. There is no argument that make sense to justify to have to pay again when we already have a subscription. As I said, it's subscription/access to everything, or freetoplay/cash shop. Trying to justify both is just greedy and there is no justification. That's just a big problem from the gaming model we have lately.

We're paying a subscription to maintain servers, cover other maintenance costs and updates and patches, not just content. I'm honestly surprised at the amount of extra content they offer during patches for the amount of the subscription fee we pay.

Our subscriptions pay for the monthly updates and major patches every 2-3 months. If we didn't pay subs, then all we would get is the initial content at release of the expansion with occasional "balance" patches.

The cash shop is all COMPLETELY optional. There is nothing there that gives you an advantage in game of any kind. The development of assets that are sold on the cash shop takes time and resources separate from game development... aka money. That's why they charge for them.

I consider them as luxury goods and only buy them on special occasions: birthdays, Xmas presents, etc.

You are brainwashed to the micro transaction system, it's ok for you if you like it and buy it. Here, I'm not buying those item, and I will continue to criticize and not encourage that system. It's ok for you if it's how you see things, but that's not my point of view on gaming. Sadly for me, as long as people like you exixt, people who are ok with this system and buy stuff from it, well that system will stay in place. I just wish that people could stop buying from those microtransaction. I don't blame you, but don't try to convince me that it's ok to have a cash shop AND a subscription, I will always disagree.

Also, it's not because it's the way that things works now that it means it's the way things should be. Over that stupid capitalism, things turned like that for gaming, microtransactions are everywhere now. But it doesn't means we should all accept that because "that's the way it is". But clearly we won't agree here.

How are people 'brainwashed' by the microtransactions of the Mogshop? There's no advantage to owning any of the items other than having something pretty/stylish/cool to look at. There's no overt or subliminal messages saying 'buy our stuff' in the game. They barely even advertise the shop on the launcher until something new comes out.

Besides, why do you care so much about what other people spend their money on?
