As long as the items on the cash shop are not required to be optimal (P2W) and the cash shop keeps to itself, I'm satisfied.

People can say what they want about games that require a sub, but I know where I stand - games that make subs "optional" get really obnoxious and annoying about advertising their microtransactions in-game.

It's one of the primary reasons I quit ESO. As soon as you log in...Crap mount for sale! BUY NOW! Limited time only! Only $19.99! I can't do this all day!

Meanwhile, the Mog Station is a website which can't be accessed in-game. It's refreshing.

Agreed. I'd rather play a game with the security of a sub like FFXIV, or even WoW - for all WoW is they still release new content (whether it's good content is another story) regularly to the game. FFXIV always releases new things (again can debate on quality) at a MUCH higher, regular schedule than most other MMORPGS out there, in my opinion. This is a problem with live service games which have co-opted a system similar to that of an mmorpg, but with the 'promise' of new content - content in which has frequent delays, or doesn't come out alltogether.

If a sub isn't required then publishers/devs aren't held to a higher standard, in my opinion.
