Player Reputation feature?

It just came to me, this idea~ about implementing a reputation feature? Well, i think this feature will make people help each other more? the more this (X) player help other players or whatever is related to making his reputation increase, might also implement achievement for this feature?

So do you guys like this idea? if not, please tell us why ^^ .

and how would that work?
unless people would register for help making it a quest ,SE...has no way to track peoples activity in helping someone.
or do they?

Matter of fact i like the idea you could register at the counter/ inn or something asking for help.
People who accept the quest could get extra experience bonusses and yes a reputation bonus.
A lot people not belonging to a LS could profit from it and make quests avaiable for them they could otherwise not do or have to shout 3 hours for around the place to recruit people to help them

get abused to much i think. have groups of ppl spamming reps of players in their shells etc to boost each others reps. much the same way as all the idiots have a 5 star rep on xbl or something.

the idea itself is fairly sound but a fair system for implementation would be really difficult
