Missing Genders: A request for Male Miqote, Female Highlander, and Female Roegadyn

Many of you English/American players probably know who I am before you even opened the thread, Yes. I MidgardZolom from Eorzeapedia have come to post my request publicly on these new forums Square Enix has provided to us. Surprisingly, the handle I've been using for the last few years without incident has been taken in the small few hours the forums already been available, or is unacceptable for use on the SE forums, which is upsetting but there are things more upsetting then that to worry about.

Dear, Yoshi-P and the rest of the staff at Square-Enix, I want to thank you for producing such a beautiful and interesting game. But as a on and off active player from FFXI for closing in on 9 years I was rather upset that when the announcement for the races came out for XIV that they were a reboot of the old races from XI and the almost always requested Male Mithra was missing, and to a lesser extent the Female Galka. These were both items that had been requested as far back as the Beta of Final Fantasy XI. I know because as far back as that I was one that was requesting them then as well.

Fast forward to XIV, its time in before release, alpha, then beta, And the player base was just as vocal if not more so in requesting these features. Large numbers of the player communities had long drawn out threads debating on why the older races were rebooted, why the often requested genders were missing, what could those genders look like? The Debates were huge, some become rather vocal. Some people like me even wrote opinion articles which ended up as news items on Fansites.

Then we got smatterings of updates, uplifting the hopes of those of us who were asking for them. Bits and pieces of the lore that was being released through the na.finalfantasyxiv.com website were going up which hinted heavily at these missing genders. The description of the Seawolf clan of Roegadyn actually mentions women being important in the culture. So as a result when given the chance some of the Fansites even broke down and asked the question in an interview during E3.

In an interview with Tanaka and Kurasawa the question was ask:
" There is a growing group in the community who would like to see the implementation of Male Miqo’te and Female Roegadyn in FINAL FANTASY XIV. Are there plans to make these yet to be seen gender and race combination playable? If not, what made you decide not to work them into FINAL FANTASY XIV."

The answer we got was actually a hopeful one:
"Actually all of the design is ready, so we were planning to implement them into the game, however during the development process we had to put priority with what to put into the game, and due to the man power issue we had to give up implementing them into the beginning of the game. You will see them as an NPC, but it is not a race that you can choose at the beginning. We’ll see how it goes in the future, it might be a possibility. We are still looking into it."

Then a new race was announced for the game. Highlander Hyur, another gender locked race that was Male only, and even more people began demanding the matched pair for a third group.

Then the game itself released and these options never came and many of us were upset but still requesting, still insisting. In game even more hints were popping up, talks about Male Miqo'te are hidden amongst the conversations with NPCs in Ul'Dah. And the story of a Female Roegadyn who had great business sense and wealth was found.

So my question Yoshi-P, knowing you are not Tanaka, and that you have an interest in trying to give the players some of the things we have been asking for, for a really really long time.

Is there still any chance of Male Miqo'te and Female Roegadyn becoming playable Gender Options in FFXIV? Those of us who have asked for them generally do not care if we have to start over from scratch to be able to use them. Though we would prefer a one time redesign as an option. We never got a straight honest and final answer on this request and with a new boss in charge it is time we asked again and attempted to get an answer.

We are willing to wait if they are coming, but we need an answer.
