What is your ACTUAL reasoning for undercutting?

I don't craft. 99% of the stuff I sell is random items from the 1h ventures. sometimes it's crap, sometimes it's great.

But whatever it is I get, I want to get rid of it as fast as possible. As it didn't cost me anything to get them (paying venture tokens with seal, seals that I get from unsellable equipments from those same ventures!), I have no trouble in my mind putting them as cheap as I want, so I undercut by 1, 10 or 100k depending on the minimum price when I sell and make it a round price at the same time.

And if it happens one of the items I try to sell is going to close to NPC selling price, I just put it aside, go buy the stock of that item and sell it in Doma and profit.

I usually do the opposite. I don't undercut stuff that doesn't get outdated, and I don't mind if they get sold in 1 minute or 1 year. I always end up selling them and getting full profit, instead of an undercutted profit. In the end you get more gil for the same, instead of farming/crafting the triple and wasting time.

I only undercut stuff that gets outdated fast, like a new minion that everybody wants right now, or new raid food/potions etc... and I always undercut them 1 gil only, because I don't want to break the market.

Are you undercutting out of spite of “elitist” crafters....or do you do it to genuinely bring the price down so everyone can afford it?

There is no great agenda against crafters going on. People just want to sell their things.

I undercut for a very little amount from 1gil to 1k if the item is pricey when I want to sell it fast

I undercut when other people get on my nerves.

If people keep dragging the sale price of something i'm trying to sell extremely low, like ores for example, that's fine.

I will flood the market so horribly and drag the price down until it reaches 10 gil or less. I don't actually need the gil, I just sell stuff so people who are lazy can get them, if I make some money on the side over it, sure. But I won't hold my breath to flooding the market with said item and dragging the prices down horribly low until undercutters either try to undercut below 10 gil or they leave, because I will go out of my way to specifically mine those things and keep the market flooded until undercutters give up.

I undercut because I would like my items to actually sell.
Because everyone undercuts, if you don't, then your item will never sell, and you'll find it still listed 6 months later when current prices are half of what they used to be.
I actually DO need the gil, which is why I actually want it to sell in a reasonable time frame, unlike some spiteful people who will undercut by thousands just to 'teach people a lesson'...

I just want to sell what I have. I don't craft but when I did I still sold the low level things for less than what others were. Why? Because I think most things have way, WAY too much markup on them.

I got literally thousands of an item from "Of the Golden..." title, guess I'll sell what I crafted because I really don't need it. Oh, someone undercut me, I'll undercut them because I want it to just sell already.

There's a rare expensive item I want to sell for a high price... and someone 1gils me. Ok. I got time, let's do this. 1gil undercuts to stay at the top of the list go.

I'm petty. I will sell things at a reasonable price when I undercut, enough that it's acceptable of course and not completing destroying the market. But if you undercut me by 1 gil, then I'm going to undercut you by 100 - you keep doing it and each time the amount I undercut will increase until you back off, buy me out - or someone purchases my items.

I despise 1 gil undercutters. Probably because I'm from SWTOR. Ain't personal my bros, it just makes me see red.
