I wonder how people like this ever survived playing games like Quake. Late 2D games looked good. Late 3D games look good. Early 3D games looked like crap. And you know what?

We loved them anyway.

Definitely with you there. Having gone from DOS to N64 and onwards from there, there are so many games that are far below the mark of this one, but looked impressive at the time - and sometimes still do.

Things don't have to be photorealistic all the time, and if you've found the one corner of the world where they've left the seams exposed, that's a pity but just ignore it and move on with enjoying the rest of the game.
